Players Who Shook the Crumbie #35: Tom Smith

Post by Iain »

This write up from Dave Thomas

A great player of the amateur era was Tom Smith. He played as lock with Jonno and Matt Poole. Tom is a typical second row - tall but very mobile - perhaps ahead of his time. Bearing in mind that in those days you had to fit ina day time job - Tom was a brickie - he has a huge number of caps and has continued to coach Tigers youth teams up to now. Tom is now a qualified P.E. teacher in Melton and a School Sports Coordinator- promoting sport and healthy life styles to our young people. He turns out for the Drogs and maons about his age! He deserves a mention and credit for all his talent and endevour.
