The season before last Tigers earned revenue of £552K from shirt sales (see report to shareholders.

Likely this between 12000 and 13000 shirts.

So likely last season the quantity was betweem 13000 qand 15000

Er... no!

Total sales from merchandising was £1.2M of which 46% was from replica shirts.

Hence my numbers.

I would have thought they sold double that.

Fascinating.

Why would you have thought?

Why would you have thought they would have sold double that?

Remember unlike Ospreys Tigers do not have "fire sales" of shirts.

My numbers might be 25% low insofar as childrens shirs retail at less than adults shirts but a 100% error???? I very much doubt it.

Actually, I will tell you. Osprey's sold 38,000 shirts last year (2nd to Munster).

I'm sure someone has been gagging to tell you all

Must have sold them cheap - low turnover - low margin - did you get petrol coupons with them???

That is what happen when you get your suppliers to makie too many!!

Anecdotally, they sold by the skip load when they dropped the price to £19 last year. Nice shirt for £19 ..... I might buy one myself next spring !

Wonder what the margin was. 2/3 of 5% of not a lot?

And the wharehousing costs would have been astronomical!

Better to sell 25,000 at $50 and 13,000 at $19 than to sell 13,000 at $50. Even better if you can get half of the 38,000 to attend the matches at the same time !
