Tom V's speed

Post by CJ »

have just watched the 100m in the European athletics and wonder what Tom's speed is over 100m. I'm sure I've seen the figure somewhere. we all know he's fast but how fast? and I reckon he could string two sentences of good English together in an interview as well.

He was said to have achieved 10.8 seconds for 100 metres - on grass - wearing socks.

I heard 10.8 as well, which (I think) makes him the fastest timed 'Tiger' ever (just ahead of Barry Evans, who was also sub-11 as I recall).

great response, Stevet! love it.

10.8 on the grass - not sure what that would be on the track, with starting blocks but he must be up there with our so called athletes. perhaps he should take them on - bag himself an Olympic track and field medal.

not forgetting the spikes instead of socks! i usually ran at least 0.5sec less on grass than the track... so maybe he could do it in just over 10??
