On the animated league table in the results and fixtures there's a picture of a shield with tigers logo on. Do you mean that? I imagined there the designer had just used it as a device because the logo would look rubbish coming off the grey background. (I'm a designer...) But perhaps not. The basic logo looks just the same though.

stevetelcom2000 wrote:I love that word 'copyrightable'. I checked to see if it was an actual word, & lo & behold it is. I will have to find a way of dropping it into my conversation today. Anyway, Munster had the same copyright situation with the old badge being the Munster Province Crest, hence the new badge with the deers head on it.

A little fact for you then Steve:

"Uncopyrightable" (also a word!) is the longest word in the English language which doesn't repeat any letters!

and yes, the tigerhead with the crest around it is the new logo. It's not just been done for the sake of design on the website. It's here to stay & will slowly be adopted on everything in a full re-branding exercise.

The Tigers head on it's own looks pretty cool, but by putting it on that shield design, the designers have taken away all the dynamism from the logo. To be honest, it looks really tacky to me! Anyone know who the leading designers are tigers? the new away kit sucks too!!!

Donncha O'Callaghan and Bruce Reihana are the best players that ever lived. Don't even bother to argue with me.

And - however good Imanol Harinordoquy is, he is still an idiot

Nah, that rocks. In the context of a tattoo it's perfect the way it is.

It is good to have the club colours within the logo, and the sheild shape makes it easier to create patches and overlays etc for use everywhere. So design-wise I think it's cool. As long as the tiger doesn't change - because that is iconic - and Spike would have to change his tattoo!

Tiger should have been quite a bit larger within the sheild, though, for more impact. I think I'll send them my card.
