LTTV next week - Club Doctor - Any questions?

Post by Tigerbeat »

Next week the Club Doctor will be the guest on LTTV with Geordan and Bondi.
If you have any questions or are curious how the medical team are looking after the players and preparing for the return to rugby post-covid, please post them on this thread.
Questions only please!
Thanks :smt023

What injuries are players most susceptible to after a long lay-off and what are the mitigating measures?

A non-covid one from me if that’s allowed.

What do you think has been the biggest change in the last 10 years around the role of the club doctor and what do you think will be the biggest change in the next 10 years?

From both a playing and medical perspective, what change would you like to see to make rugby union better?

What action, if any, should the game's governing bodies take to achieve a more consistent approach to head injuries?

There were players in recovery or ready to get back to playing just before the lockdown - how has the pandemic affected the players rehabilitation. Has it been a positive contribution (rest and non-contact training at home) or had an adverse effect of the players recovery?

Team A play Team B on Saturday, Team A's hooker tests positive for Covid 19 on the Monday...what happens next?

Thank you all.

It’s always enjoyable to have the work done for me!! Can’t complain.

Keep the questions coming for the Doc and we’ll put them to him on Friday’s show.

Bondi.

How do Team Doctors identify and share best practice? Do PRL and/or the RFU take a lead, do professional medical bodies drive the agenda or is it down to you as individuals?

If a player tests positive before a match will all colleagues who have been in contact, ie training, socialising etc have to go into isolation and what happens to match?

What is the procedure, when a player comes off for a head injury assessment and what are the criteria for deciding whether he returns to the match or not?

Heavens to Betsie - What happens if Doctor has symptoms.
Do we have have enough of a medical team to take over?
What number of the medical team showing symptoms would make the club unable to function?

Sam - did you cut yourself shaving the facial hair?? :smt023

We all long to get back to sitting in the stands or congregating on the terrace and this time will come hopefully this year. However Covid-19 is the hidden killer and will be around for some years to come in whatever guise.
If I am in my regular seat in the stand and another ticket holder later in the week catches the virus and " hopefully " reports it to Tigers then what action are Tigers going to do to advise the locality???
Now if this was on the Terrace then there are only a few in regular spots and often a high number of opposition supporters which presents a problem (and I do not want the Terrace zoned like Saints either) So how is this notification covered.??

Does the ball have to be changed and sanitised if it is kicked into the crowd? :smt017
