Re: How times have changed..

I'm just watching the England v Samoa match from the 2003 World Cup on ITV4 and am gasping at the ferocity and dangerous high tackles. Jason Robinson was nearly decapitated at one point. The game was certainly quicker back then but the penalising of high tackles had to happen. I'm surprised there a...

Re: Provisional Premiership Return Date ?

Has it? I’ve not seen anything official and not really seen much in here about it. Ah well. "Premiership Rugby confirmed on 18 January 2020 that Saracens Rugby Club will be relegated at the end of the 2019-2020 season." https://www.premiershiprugby.com/news/update-on-saracens-rugby-club L...

Re: Puzzled - Saracens!

The avoidance of scrutiny leaves many unanswered questions, until the financial records are properly scrutinised Sarries still smell and bring the game into disrepute . Yes but Sarries were offered a choice, relegation ir have their books checked by a forensic accountant. They chose relegation, no ...

Re: Puzzled - Saracens!

Or has another wheeze been found such as front loading the contracts, big bonus payments for this season and reduced income for next season? No proof but it would be one way of a side circumventing the salary cap, knowing they are being punished for this season already they could pay off part of a ...

Thanks for the reply, that makes sense, The University of Michigan has done a study which finds 70% of native Americans find the use of mascots in headdresses offensive and 65% the tomahawk chop offensive, Link: https://record.umich.edu/articles/study-opposition-high-to-native-american-mascots-name...

Re: Exeter Chiefs

But why does it need quantifying. If some of the indigenous people of America feel their culture is being represented unfairly by some sports teams then we should encourage those teams to change. I'm all for freedom of speech, but freedom to mock or belittle where we know this is the case, is not t...

Re: Exeter Chiefs

If you scrutinise my DNA closely enough I'm sure I belong to multiple ethnic groups, possibly even American Indian although probably less than 3%. You may be more closely related than you think. I am sure I recall reading about some genetic studies that found common Y chromosomes in Wales and North...

August 2012, apparently. We won 34-21 and went on to win the Premiership.
I thought it was a lot more recent but could only come up with August 2013 Jersey 7-69 Leicester Tigers. Third, losing to Saints in the play-off.

Re: Exeter Chiefs

H's dad I don't understand your position, are you denying the right of the many native american associations who vehemently dislike the branding to object? Or are you saying that you do not care about people feeling marginalised by their culture being mocked for profit? Just for everybody's informa...

Re: Exeter Chiefs

Yes some don't object. Possibly a majority? Yes but fail to see the point of it? unless are Exeter giving a % to native americans? I don't understand how you fail to see a point in this. Separately, it would be great if Exeter were to set up some sort of educational or support programme for America...

Re: Exeter Chiefs

I don't know but I would have thought that most Exeter fans, including those who wear headdresses would deny being either racist or ignorant. Surely the whole point of being ignorant is that you would deny it anyway? i'm not calling the whole Exeter fan base ignorant but if you are wearing a headdr...

Re: Exeter Chiefs

I find the most annoying thing about this discussion is when people make it out that Exeter fans are being called racist. There is a difference between Racism and Ignorance. It's trying to change the argument. I don't know but I would have thought that most Exeter fans, including those who wear hea...
