Re: Exeter's woes
The hardest thing in sport is staying at the top consistently. Tigers are probably the only team to have done this for a long period of time - 10 finals in a row plus the early 2000s successes. Wasps had a good run (3 seasons?), and Quins and Sale have had one-off years. Exeter have spent a long tim...

Re: Who's the employer?
It is an interesting question and, whilst I have read the news stories about the football cases, I have not gone into much more depth. That said, from the words used in the football cases, there appears to be a request for the football authorties, with their far deeper pockets, to set up funds to h...

Re: Saints pinch the Lightning!
I prefer our deal with Lichfield tbh, can grow more organically. Also how in the world could we have not allowed this lol? It was either Lichfield or Loughborough, reality is we helped give Lichfield a lifeline to the top flight since for whatever reason (Guess size) the RFU wanted them to have no ...

Re: The Hundred X Rugby
I don't follow cricket enough - was The Hundred really just a way to get Twenty20 on the BBC? It doesn't seem like the format is that much different to Twnety20, just slightly shorter. Do Sky etc have all the other competitions locked up?

Re: The Hundred X Rugby
There are too many negatives for me but make no mistake, it will happen. Every sport outside of these laden wiht cash is looking for its version of the 20/20 cash cow. But the key thing is that 20/20 gave an accessible format in a sport that either took a whole day or 5 days previously. It meant yo...

Re: The Hundred X Rugby
Not sure how 12 a side is going to attract people who don't watch 15 a side.

Re: The start of the end?
From the few League matches that I watch a season, I would think that sport is actually more at risk. It seems much less worried/careful about head injuries during play with subs and concussion protocols that union, and that says a lot! My thoughts are that under 18s rugby will cease to exist in the...

Re: Nottingham and Tigers announce an formal cooperation agreement
It depends on how much salary is covered by Tigers. I assume that Nottingham realise they have no realistic hope of promotion. Therefore, having Tigers pick up the salary of more of the "shared" squad should negate any impact of losing players at certain times.

Re: Lions 2021
I'm sure AWJ's tears were genuine ( he's a passionate man perhaps playing his finale) and maybe professional Northern Hemisphere rugby players do still think of Lions' selection as the "pinnacle" but when I look at the 15 names who started the 3rd Test on Saturday, my gut feeling is that ...

Re: Lions 2021
Mako played well at scrum this time because the replacement tight head decided to bore in on the hooker ( for which he should have been penalised is refereed correctly) and Mako drove into his exposed ribs which is the way to deal with a tight head who cheats in that way. Sutherland had already don...

Re: Lions 2021
I'm not convinced Vunipola's scrummaging is a bad as everyone has made it out to be. The WC final was a bad game but that was one game a long time ago. Price was disappointing in the first test. If he's not going to bring quick ball, which he didn't, then I'm not sure he's the player to start the te...
