What a great shame. He was the finest player I ever saw in an England jersey and I don't say that lightly.
He was an absolute joy to watch and was an intrigal part of that famous Barbarians try finished off by Gareth Edwards.

I hesitate to interject in your debate lads but I think you have a good point when it comes to directing "mates". There is no more obvious example than when Johnno became the England coach. He was mates with all his selected teams and was particularly close to "mad dog Moody". Al...

Ken Scotland
I was so sorry to learn of the passing yesterday of the great Ken Scotland.
A Tigers icon from the amateur days, he graced the club for a couple of seasons in the early sixties.
As all who saw and knew him, he was a great player and a fine man. RIP Ken.

WHY oh WHY, when we had a lineout near their corner with less than a minute to go did we not bring in all the backs to push as well? What was there to lose? Is this banned now? We wasted a similar chance in the first half. As the commentary team mentioned, we should also have had a penalty try. Ther...

Calling Wiggy and saying Pollard is a waste of money is ridiculous. Who doesn't get depressed by a dicking? I've played on both sides of that scenario. The point is, it's early days and we got a pasting at Saracens early season under the departed coaches. Friday night games away have often been diff...

Re: Kevin Sinfield - a LEGEND!!
That's wonderful and well deserved.
I was pleased he mentioned Tigers in his acceptance speech. I hope he maintains some connections with the club.

Re: How much?
Meyer was supposed to be a great coach but was only with us for a dog watch and his leaving, although apparently for personal reasons, was a bit of a surprise. He never made much of an impact and if my memory serves me well, struggled a bit. Cockers, according to many, was not a success and long out...

Re: How much?
I have no knowledge about Wiggie's coaching ability but there's no doubt he has a good rugby brain, has great knowledge of the former coaches philosophy and methods and has been coached in his time by some great coaches. He may then be just what the doctor ordered. I can't help but think back to whe...

Fentiger wrote: Sweeney and RFU doing us a favour? Funny way of showing it! I totally agree. I am aware that some members of the club hierarchy read this forum, if only to test the "wind of opinion" among the support. If that is so, let us formally ask the club. How much did the RFU pay Ti...

How much?
Much has been speculated and spoken of regarding the fee Tigers would demand for our coaches. 200k was the figure widely quoted in the press as being offered for them. I have seen as much as £5 million being quoted but as nothing has been published (as far as I know) I should really like to know. I ...

Re: Abuse to Officials?
The joy of bringing up a boy through the mini/youth system is that, they are taught to respect other players, always to be sporting and even if the official is a blind ,biased buffoon, he is the sole judge of fact. And Is always addressed as "sir". Parents can get a bit excited but general...

Re: Tigers post Borthwick - next Head Coach?
Not many talking up Brett Deacon for the head coach's job. He is the forwards coach and by all accounts, has done well as coach to the second string. It obviously depends on which of the coaches go with SB. I imagine he is well inducted into the coaching that has been successful last year and of cou...
