Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce
How do you propose they could have stop ped the touts though? "Touting" tickets is unfortunately not illegal and never has been (except for football & the 2012 Olympics). The organisers tried to get RWC2015 added to the list but the govt refused. What more could they have done? Duplica...

Re: Barbains squad up!!!!1
The marketing men will tell you it is to carry on "the tradition". The statisticians would point out that there hasn't been a Tigers vs Barbarians game since March 2006 and there has never been one in November so "tradition" is a weak argument. Money is a more reasonable excuse f...

Re: Barbains squad up!!!!1
Given this http://www.leicestertigers.com/news/20939.php I wouldn't think so. I hope that is just marketing talk to try and boost attendance. My view might be different if Tigers had a fully fit, fully available squad to call on but we don't. I also remember the March 1998 Barbarians fixture, thoug...

Re: Official history book has arrived
Already out of date - The Old Feller has shattered the record for Tigers oldest ever player! Brilliant! I don't think ANYONE will ever get beat Graham Willars' record! Even if Cockers made a playing return vs Barbarians next month he wouldn't even be close. As for the new history book, it is alread...

Re: Barbains squad up!!!!1
Imagine we will have the first team minus the key key players. I imagine Tigers will have a third-string side padded out with Nottingham/Bedford players given the current injury list. Even though there are only LV games either side of this, I would hope the Premiership XV are protected from this me...

Re: Programme sales
I seem to recall that around 10-15 years ago they were sold in Mercury News shops & similar but this stopped so obviously the club decided that the cost of distribution, collection & wastage wasn't cost-efficient. While I agree that some additional fans would buy copies via local shops I wou...

Re: 2014/15 Kits
This, Sir, is a rugby match, not a cattle sale. There is nothing in the laws dictating that shirts be numbered, doesn’t seem to be in the rules either. You quite often see players changing their shirts when ripped or torn for unnumbered replacements. Some competitions do state that player numbering...

Re: 2014/15 Kits
Always thought the logic for everyone going to identical numbering systems (which did make some sense at the time) fell apart as soon as we went to match day squads of 22, now 23, where just seeing a number gives little indication as to where a player is actually playing. Personally I'd love to go ...

Re: Tomkins returns to Wigan
Totally agree - Jason Robinson sheer class and magical feet. Sonny Bill Williams - another star player with feet and hands. Eastmond looks good so far. Other than that, the only other person who has impressed cross-codes was Jonathan Davies and he started as Union so doesn't count :smt003 There was...

Re: the Champions Cup
I wouldn't really call Turkish a "major european airline".
They are on a bit of an expansion drive at the moment (both in terms of brand awareness & pilot recruitment) and fly to a hell of a lot of destinations but I wouldn't really consider them a major European player.

Re: International call ups
Equally you could probably argue that player welfare isn't being considered by the clubs as they could also rest the players if they felt it was needed. Also, if a player feels he needs a rest he could easily withdraw from the summer tour. It is up to the player whether or not he makes himself avail...

But Tigers have said they would only be interested as the away team so as to not affect home attendances.

tjs10 – how dare you come up with a logical and rationally explained point of view and present it in such a courteous manner! Sorry, it was a moment of weakness! :smt002 Personally I would love the traditional Barbarians fixture to return but professional clubs have bigger, more important things to...

Re: Tigers v Barbarians annual game - we need your help!
I will pass your comments on to my wife. It is not pessimism. It is a case of living in the real world and understanding how businesses work. If you think you know better than the Tigers directors I'm sure they will welcome your application to stand at the next AGM. Afterall, you clearly think you k...

Re: Tigers v Barbarians annual game - we need your help!
If it were a pre-season match you certainly wouldn't have any Prem, Celtic League or Top14 players involved for the Barbarians as they would all be in pre-season training with their own clubs. Similarly you wouldn't have any of the current SH internationals involved as they would be involved in The ...
