Re: The writing on the wall for Lancaster?

What was Johnno's 6N record. tjs10? What was Johnno's longest losing sequence? What was the sequence leading to WC2011. the last 13 matches say? Remember, MJ's tenure is supposed to be an abject failure compared to the wonderful new dawn of Lancaster. I'm sure you will rise to the challenge. :smt00...

Actually, it compares quite similarly with Johnno's England coaching record.

Johnno's record was P38 W21 D1 L16 (55% winning percentage)
Lancaster's is P31 W18 D1 L12 (58% winning percentage)

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

It is more complicated for a number of reasons including, but not limited to: The increased admin in processing the photos and adding them to the tickets. (Your football scenario can't work for the RWC when there is no pre-existing "membership". A separate card wouldn't stop touts. It woul...

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

Doing it for an allocated seating event makes complicated ticket application processes less desireable for customers, thereby reducing demand and potentially alienating larger numbers of genuine fans. The fact that the only 2 events anyone has so far offered where photo ID is required are for "...

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

If that was the requirement to be a moderator, BillW would be the uber mod for this site! I was invited to be a mod when the forum was relaunched about 10 years ago. I was asked to do the role because the communications manager at the time trusted me to be fair and responsible. I have no idea of the...

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

For the record, I'm not a moderator here anymore and probably haven't been for well over 5 years. They've just never taken away the avatar. I agree that the prices you may end up paying are high but I don't see how a different system would have helped as in all honesty you probably wouldn't have had...

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

The supposedly foolproof Ryder Cup ticket system still saw tickets being made available via Stubhub & Viagogo at inflated prices:

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

I know its different and I'm not suggesting its an answer but: How many tickets has anyone seen on the 'black market' for Glastonbury?? I've seen them before and also know people who have bought (and successfully used) them as well. As with the Ryder Cup, I come back to my earlier points. They are ...

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

One of the matches i applied for was not balloted, i didnt even get them! The aim was to ensure that as many people got tickets as possible, which is great. Why then did I (and many others) get none when i know at least 2 people who have tickets through the ballot for 3 matches? What really doesnt ...

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

Then I stand corrected and there is one sporting event that has managed it. However it is the only one that anyone has identified, is a single site event (unlike the mulitsite, multinational, entirely allocated seating, weeks-long RWC that would be logistically far more complicated). If it really wa...

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

The Ryder Cup manages it very nicely indeed. Photo of the ticket holder on every ticket. Every ticket applied for is for a named individual, so no duplicate applications are possible. I'd do ninety percent of the tickets available for sale on that basis, then put 10% on an ebay style site so that t...

Re: Congratulations RWC for ticket farce

OK now don't fall about on the floor but the IRB could have stipulated conditions of sale which would at least provided some justification for the law to prosecute touting. I'd be interested to know what those conditions of sale would be as touting (except as mentioned above) is not a prosecutable ...

Re: Can anyone help a confused old Bogtrotter?

And where do you think PRL gets mush of its funding from? Answer: RFU. If PRL gives in to WRU, RFU might try to use similar methods against PRL in the next round of negotiations regarding EPS compensation. As it is, RFU pay handsomely for access to PRL players outside of international windows. If PR...
