Re: I don't like this.......
Doubt it would make much £ unless they got an arab sponsor. Well Quins are sponsored by Etihad - the national airline of Abu Dhabi - so maybe they're fronting the cash? But as it's an away game for Quins it would be a little odd. Eurosport was recently showing a cricket test between South Africa an...

Re: Wasps considering playing LV game in Abu Dhabi
By the way, Big Trevor Leota plays for 'Dubai Wasps', and I met Stimmo, Dave Lougheed, Chris Sheasby and Malolm O'Kelly at the Dubai 7s last week [playing for a charity side], so there is certainly enough interest to sell tickets etc. Was gutted to find out after the event [via FB] that Freddie was ...

Re: Wasps considering playing LV game in Abu Dhabi
Good news for me! I'm living in Abu at the moment! In fact the Abu Dhabi Harlequins Xmas Ball was last night, and the club captain confirmed this is a serious prospect... Yes, I know, being a member of a Harlequins-affiliated rugby club isn't ideal, but there's just the one here, and I have been tol...

I defer to your greater knowledge - sorry!Hot_Charlie wrote: Scott is TTTE's older brother.
I assumed that 7s players were all v young - that seems to be the trend as they have not established themselves too much for there clubs, therefore can be spared for the odd international trip

TTTE has a brother!
I'm at the Dubai Sevens this weekend - great rugby on show hear and the weather is a little better than UK! Anyway, the NZ team has a player called Scott Waldrom, who by my reckoning, and confirmed with a little google search, is our Thomas' little brother. I know they'll never be as numerous as Mrs...

Re: Men of letters
I don't know how others feel on here [straw poll?] but I would be interested in buying a replica shirt and having a letter rather than a number on the back... currently the 'letters' on sale are for names and much smaller, but the club could put big letters on couldn't they? I mean if PRL insists on...

Short-term All Black signing, anyone?
Saw an interesting paragraph in this article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/sep/21/jonny-wilkinson-toulon-contract-talks "...Leicester have been put on alert after the New Zealand Rugby Union said it was looking to secure a short-term contract in Europe for the All Blacks lock Ali Willia...

Re: Andy Powell to wasps?
It did make me laugh when I first saw this story on the Grauniad website, as the article starts with Cardiff Blues have released Andy Powell after accusing the Wales and Lions back-row of "losing his way" and very soon after states He is now expected to join Wasps. ...almost as if one is a...

Re: HC final LIVE discussion here!
Here in Saudi Arabia, the game is on *neither* of the two south african sateliite networks my hotel subscribes to, however it is on ESPN, where the pre-match announcer couldn't pronounce the difference between 'Leicester' and 'Leinster'... aha! Sky commentary has started - that's better!
