Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby

The requirement for a 10,001 capacity stadium is the one criteria I feel lacks justification. It's reasonable to demand that promotes clubs have good quality playing facilities, space for the media and the right governance. But why mandate that they must make a huge infrastructure investment to cate...

Re: Ealing PRC game info

I was sat behind the posts in one of the games where Cokanasiga came on earlier in the season (Sale?) and his defensive shape left us vulnerable. He looks really good ball in hand, but needs more time to develop that other side of his game. You can't be loose in the #13 shirt against top sides, they...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

Has de Bruin played for Edinburgh this season? Think he's had quite a lengthy lay off with a back injury.

He'd be a decent pickup for that 'both sides' role that Logo and Leatigaga played, particularly if we're also signing an international LH...

Vakatawa only signed for one year so could be a replacement for him.

Re: Ealing PRC game info

I would pick the team based on the following priorities: 1st Priority: Preparation for the resumption of the Premiership. Having potentially 2 competitive games during the 6N break gives us the opportunity to have a huge advantage over most other Prem teams, whereby we can go back already up to spe...

Was it billed as a 'Development' XV before the line-up announcement? I was expecting something closer to a PRC team.

Re: Alan Dickens - Tigers lack of attack coach.

There's also a far more high-profile sporting case happening right now with Christian Horner and Red Bull that has been handled very differently. Red Bull made a public announcement that a hearing was taking place, they referred to, "Recent allegations," and they provided a date for when a...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022

I was flicking through Sir Kev's autobiography in Tescos the other day (the Tigers chapters, obviously) and was amazed at how difficult he found it with us. I had no idea he told Borthwick he wasn't coming back after the first few days.

Re: Saudi Arabia in talks to buy stake in Tigers

Although I don't like the idea of getting into bed with the Saudis, I thnk I'd be more gutted if other clubs got shed loads of money and we missed out! This is the dilemma facing supporters... Do we continue, boldly and nobly, as starving artists? Or do we feast at the top table, knowing that if we...

Re: Saudi Arabia in talks to buy stake in Tigers

Whichever side of the argument you fall down on, I think it's vital to be informed about Saudia Arabia's Public Investment Fund. There is extensive reporting you can easily find on their source of funding, their activities and their motivations (thanks for the links @Puja). I feel it's too complicat...

Re: Formerly of this parish

Our ex-flanker Marco van Staden interviewed in the Cape Times about his concussion issues whilst with us: “It was more politics with the club, but I don’t want to go there. I would’ve liked to play more, and that season, they won the Premiership as well,” Van Staden said. “I had to leave the club, a...

I forgot about Dave Denton. I was so excited at his signing - such a sad ending for him.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

Our midfield might need some cosmetic surgery this summer...

Porter going off-contract
Scott will be 34 by start of next season
Cokanasiga will be 23 and hasn't broken through

Could be a great opportunity for Woodward or Cusick to step up.

Re: Salary Caps

It's also worth saying that the opposite situation is happening between England and France in football, where the Premier League is the behemoth and Ligue 1 cannot possibly compete (save for one state-owned club).

Carnduff was busy in the tackle. Quietly impressive. Love to see more of him.

Let's not forget that we were all just as excited about Illione before one disappointing game against Exeter.
