Re: Matera extends contract with Tigers
He was excellent in the Sarries game, always looking to offload and very direct. If he continues to develop he will be a great

Re: Tomkins returns to Wigan
He was never big enough to be second row, too inexperienced for back row and not fast or skilful enough for centre. Just shows that a good league player will not necessarily make a good union player. Will be interesting to see how Burgess gets on

Farrell out of 3rd test
Just announced on sky. A little convenient perhaps, face saving? or am I being overly cynical.
Either way, good news.

Re: the Champions Cup
Going off topic a bit here. How on earth is Captain Scarlett relevant to the new and much vaunted European competition?

Interesting selections - presumably Haskell, Cipriani and Dickson wont be considered for Saturday

Re: Manu to start on the wing ?
Farrell, Burrell, Twelvtrees, Care: all apparently struggling with injuries. Given they were the four stand out rubbish performers, and given the fact that Lancaster seems to really rate them, do I detect a face saving exercise.
Either way, if non of them play, good!

Re: Manu to start on the wing ?
Getting back on topic, anyone think of any particularly good reason why Burrell shouldn't start on the wing?

Re: Manu to start on the wing ?
Arguably, overturning the ban on overseas players just to bring Armitage into the side might look very much like desperation. or it would be the end of an idiotic policy in the first place! are England really that good they can discount countless players just because they are across the channel? At...

Re: Manu to start on the wing ?
It will be very interesting to see what will happen if, as expected there are wholesale changes and England get turned over. Will there then be even more changes for the third test? I thought the Manu Eastmond partnership looked very good. Bearing in mind it was the first time they have played toget...

Duty of care
Now that I have calmed down a bit and can type rationally....... When did 'duty of care' sneak into the game. Specifically under the high ball. If two players are committed to the ball, with eyes on it, one will catch it, one won't. This often leads to a mid air collision. It seems now that the play...

Not sure I agree (apart from the silverware bit). I think our season only really started after Christmas and another 5 games would see us in second.ads wrote:
Sorry for being a doom monger but I think this a game too far this season for us.
We WILL win silverware next season though!

Re: Sale v Tigers
We had the bonus point, we were miles ahead, away, against a very good side. Yes, they came back a bit, but it was never nail biting.

Re: Reboot topic:referees now decide games #2
The other point to consider is how difficult it is to ref, especially at the breakdown where there are always multiple acts of illegality going on. Or the scrum, where no one is sure what is going on. Who is pulling down, who is pushing the opposition prop down. Or are they both doing something. One...
