Re: Wasps still in the mire

Apart from the top salaries, the other issue is the size of the squad needed. Maybe getting rid of tactical subs, and only allowing injury replacements would help. Would have benefits on other aspects of the game too

Re: Worcester’s woes

Even more so, look what central contracts have done for cricket. Big worry for me, which hasn’t really been mentioned, is central contracts will probably lead to bigger international payments to players. That will inevitably lead to more internationals to pay those salaries. That will lead to less g...

Re: Discrimination against Red Roses.

The world seems obsessed with travelling business class or first class when it's about a few hours getting from A to B. In the days of Concorde getting somewhere quicker might have been a consideration but on any flight the economy class segment doesn't land any earlier! It’s not the speed, it’s th...

Re: Worrying attendances

There is a bit of rose tinted specs here regarding the 'good old days' . I used to watch Orrell pre professionalism. They got crowds in the hundreds, and this was when they were pushing for the title. The standard was not good, these were amateurs playing at am amateur level. This was in the era of ...

Re: Still stuck in the mud! - Development updates

£98 next Friday, £130 next Saturday for the Newcastle game. That’s not too bad. They’re an independent chain, of course they will put prices up for times of high demand. It’s only £20 or so higher than a normal Saturday, so you can’t really accuse them of profiteering

You could also argue it might be better for the players to stagger the rest games anyway. Is 10 weeks consecutive rest significantly better than 8. Could well be better to rest them after a tough prem game, as well as being better for the club

Didn’t like the previous mainly green shirt, don’t like this one either. Looks like London Irish, again

Interesting pic that. Best and worst? I like the 2007-09. Hated the 2012-13. Away kits too weird to comment on!

Re: Premiership Final v Saracens - 18th June 2022 KO 15:00

The thing that really concerns me is that Montoya passed an initial on field assessment but then failed a subsequent one in the second half. This presumably means he was playing on while a delayed concussion (if there is such a thing) was occurring. Given the concerns with later brain injury in ex p...

I would guess the only reason to let Moroni go would be financial. Assuming that’s the case, I’d be surprised if we replaced him

72,000 or so according to the stadium scoreboard. There were a few gaps but not too many. There were a few Sarries fans too, but not too many

That’d mean a lot of rucks in the corner would be ruled out too

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park

When you think of the level the top Welsh clubs were at pre Professionalism, the current state of affairs is a joke. This is such a good point, and had Llanelli, Cardiff and Swansea, along with possibly Neath, been left as identities in their own right, rather than having to absorb lesser sides I t...
