Re: Manu Tuilagi
Some of the posts on this thread are becoming unpleasant. Manu was employed by Tigers, like most he worked for money and like most of us he wanted the best possible wage he could get. I see no reason to insult him or his family for that, it was not his fault he sustained injury whilst playing for u...

Re: London irish
I'm not really into this 'these matches are a pre-season' mode of thinking. It's 9 rounds of a 22-round Premiership - 40% of the season! We don't want to waste 40% of the season preparing for the next one. We might be rubbish then, too. It's sufficient time for Borthwick to show how he can turn the...

Re: Teams up v Bath
This is not intended to be a criticism. It's a genuine query. A player cannot captain England U20's and Tigers (even if it was an under strengthened Tigers) without being a talented player. And it's clear that people with far more knowledge of the game than me really rate him. But, what is it that ...

Re: London irish
Irish seem to be going through a terrible injury/absentee patch at the mo, none of their big guns (Rona, Naholo, Coleman, Creevy, Mafi, Kepu etc) started against Saints. Hopefully we can get a few patterns going without having to worry about much firepower in return.

Re: Teams up v Bath
When Montoya arrives we could make an argument for best front row in the prem, Taufua is a one man wrecking machine, Ford is consistently the top scoring 10 and our new look back line will give anybody a run for their money without dissapearing for half the season on England duty. The future's brigh...

Re: Teams up v Bath
Well, we knew it wasn't going to be pretty when we saw the team sheets. I fear we're going to have to give Borthwick seasons, quite possibly some of them in the Championship, to sort this mess out, rather than weeks. :smt009 There's more reasons to be hopeful than that, some incredible talent arriv...

Re: Teams up v Bath
We do like to blood new players by having them get beaten to death by solidly middling opposition don't we. Would help if we played some of them in their actual positions.

Re: Teams up v bath
With not much left to play for and a hefty schedule this is the perfect selection IMO, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the relative unknowns can do. Tomas is going to feel even more like a man amongst boys than he normally does.

Re: Kyle Eastmond
I would 100% take legal action against my employer if they terminated my contract without cause. Of course the pandemic has placed the club in financial difficulties but that argument cuts both ways. I would not be suprised if we went up paying compensation to all 5 of our jettisoned players.

Another raft of excellent signings! Van Wyk will turn out to be a very astute pickup, he's really kicked on during the Aotearoa competition and is keeping Wes Goosen on the bench for the Hurricanes.

Over the moon about Taufua! With him, Montoya, Genge, Brink, Lavinini and Nadolo on the field at once the opposition will definitely have some bruises the next day!

I'm gutted to see him go, the Tuilagi dynasty has been a powerful draw since my first game at WR as a nipper and this is a rubbish way for it to end.

Losing most of our attacking talent in one announcement feels about right for the way things have been going in recent years. It has struck home to me and I suspect many others what a strange and scary period this is going to be for domestic rugby.

I'll buy one regardless to throw a bit of money at the club, though to be honest I still mostly wear my heavy cotton 2013 one with Castro on the back because it's by far the most comfortable.
