Watching him play the other day v SA no.
Agreed, He's massive but very upright going into tackles so didn't do much

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 1

I know it was a while ago now and there is no chance of it happening, but what was the story with the McKenzie link to us ? Just watching him carving up the Waratahs and was wondering if the deal was ever on ? Nah according to my source, the agent made it all up to heap up pressure on Steve Hansen....

That was one of the puzzling selections for me, He's hardly played since Christmas and when he has played he's hardly been international class

5 Tigers selected, some puzzling selections though Full backs Mike Brown (Harlequins) Danny Cipriani (Wasps) Joe Cokanasiga (London Irish) Elliot Daly (Wasps) Jonny May (Leicester Tigers) Denny Solomona (Sale Sharks) Jason Woodward (Gloucester Rugby) Inside backs George Ford (Leicester Tigers) Piers...

Re: Mapapalangi named in the Tongan squad.

We'll see. Turned down several call ups now. I mean I'm sure there are other loopholes we don't know about but I'd be highly surprised if they were used, the other common thing is players who have switched allegiances have switched down rather than up (NZ to Samoa, Aus to Tonga), I'm sure the press...

Re: Mapapalangi named in the Tongan squad.

As is Steve Mafi. But both Kalamafoni and Veainu get a rest this summer. When did Veainu last play for Tonga? nearly 3 years ago. Some people think theres some kind of way he could still represent England.. Stranger things have happened. Cooper Vuna, CJ Stander etc. As far as I know there is no way...

Am sure he's good but we will have to wait and see.
And when are we going to get a centre or two as Manu is booked to be injured from October to March.
Why are they letting Cipriani, Haskell and Symons go?

Re: Tour to SA

Got to be honest here, I'm really not sold on Te'o at all. By all accounts he was a world beater in Ireland, I really don't think that's been seen in a Wuss or England shirt. Maybe for a bit on the Lions tour, but even then, he never excelled in the Tests ... Austin Healey is pretty confident this ...

Who is now being offloaded instead? Is Mafi still coming? From what I gather Dom Ryan leaving has freed the room up and Mafi should be announced once Castres have finished their involvement in the top 14 Really hope this is right. We've seen Williams' class and, hopefully, a full pre-season from Ba...

Throw the cheque book at him and sign him up Tigers... :smt002
How do NZ keep producing this talent, wouldn't be surprised to see him & Rieko Ioane making up the NZ wings in 2023

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 1

Ummm, I’m sorry but Taquiele Naiyovoro is quite impressive in my opinion The definition of inconsistent. When is he on form very dangerous winger, off form and a big liability. Yeah, I get you he has been quite inconsistent for the Tahs but I still think it’s a considerable signing. From Green &...
