Re: Tigers v Nottingham (A) - Friendly - Friday 09th February 2024

I’m damn sure the coaches know what they’re doing far more than anybody on here. I see words like ridiculous and embarrassing. 12 nil down with 10 minutes to go , sound like our senior academy performed well. Nottingham got a decent run out to help with their league season and raised some much need...

Re: Tigers v Quins (A) - Premiership - Friday 26th January 2024 - KO- 19:45

In my opinion Whiteley will always be at best a No2 Scrum half he has had a number of clubs now and not broken through as a starter. His box kicking is a liability, his passing is erratic and he looks to kick rather that move the ball when the option is available. That said he had some good moments...

Re: Tigers v Quins (A) - Premiership - Friday 26th January 2024 - KO- 19:45

Seeing as we were missing our entire first choice 2nd row and our 3 front line 3s I think that is a hell of a result. Richardson didn’t let anyone down with work rate against a strong Quins front row who had the edge in the scrum. Carnduff made some big tackles and looked at home too. Honestly, we s...

Re: Tigers v Quins (A) - Premiership - Friday 26th January 2024 - KO- 19:45

That's a pretty dominant first half despite the late try against. If we keep this up in the second half we should win. My main concern is that too many of our backs seem to receive the ball standing still. If we could only get some fluency in our backs play... I have a suspicion Quins will have a b...

Not playing a more natural 7 v Quins & Will Evans could be costly. Right game plan you keep the ball off the floor a number of teams have done that to Reffell. Easier said than done I know If our power game works then it’s hard to jackal when you are getting smashed in the contact and getting u...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Champions Cup - Saturday 20th January 2024 - KO: 3-15pm

I don't quite get the negativity about this one... I felt we played well against arguably the best club/international team in the world. It got a lot more difficult once Reffell and Chessum were injured, but we just can't afford to have the strength in depth to have like for like replacements. In c...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Champions Cup - Saturday 20th January 2024 - KO: 3-15pm

I know eye contact, accidental or otherwise is a penalty but what is the law around a hand off to the face? Seems odd to allow a straight arm to the face given the way the sport is trying to minimise head contacts but I don’t know if it’s legal or not Hand off to the face is legal as long as with p...

It's no wonder Simmons went off! https://photos.app.goo.gl/z5DySnrgRpuyK7af8 Should be a ban, Chris Ashtons was nowhere near as bad. But it is a Leinster player,so there will be no citing I know eye contact, accidental or otherwise is a penalty but what is the law around a hand off to the face? See...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Champions Cup - Saturday 20th January 2024 - KO: 3-15pm

Well, we've just lost to the best two European international teams backed by possibly the worst European international referees. If we had cut out the errors today, we would have been in with a chance. This is what is killing us. Amen brother. Some on here need to realise that was a WC team bar a f...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Champions Cup - Saturday 20th January 2024 - KO: 3-15pm

We aren’t a massive way away from being a good team, we were punished for not taking chances but caused them problems and defended well - the last try we were dead on our feet. We were missing our best SH, best replacement front row, England lock, lions wing and lost our best flanker and 2nd row in ...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Champions Cup - Saturday 20th January 2024 - KO: 3-15pm

Time to move on. Despite the hammering we got in La Rochelle, the only way we go out is Sale beating La Rochelle next weekend. Leinster have all but ensured top spot in the group with a 5 point cushion, will they go full noise next week? I hope we go full strength tbh, we need the likes of Scott to...

Re: Tigers v La Rochelle (A) - Champions Cup - Sunday 14th January 2024 - KO - 3-15pm

The saddest thing for me is that this once great tournament, arguably the envy of the rugby playing world is in danger of slipping down the priority list for anyone but the Irish and French teams. If you remove Saracens from the equation for obvious reasons only two English sides have appeared in t...

Re: Tigers v La Rochelle (A) - Champions Cup - Sunday 14th January 2024 - KO - 3-15pm

Nothing to do with patience we are still waiting for many seasons for this to be redressed it is to do with coaching and player ability nothing else Many seasons, one and a bit since we were Premiership Champions??? Reality check as to what has happened here, we are running a rugby club not a burge...

Re: Tigers v La Rochelle (A) - Champions Cup - Sunday 14th January 2024 - KO - 3-15pm

I dont think our attacking play is particularly innovative or exciting but I would prefer to judge when we’ve got JVP, Pollard, Steward, OHC and Watson all out there.

Off a back row of Hanro, Wiese and Reffell, whilst I doubt we’ll go full court I do think we’ll look pretty decent
