I agree BC, the Club are not good in this area.
One of the three you mention, Sam Raven, has apparently been signed, on loan, from Rotherham.
I have seen nothing about this on the official website.

Interesting article Tigris. He sounds a bit disillusioned with professional rugby in NZ. Hopefully, he's ready for the challenge of a new country/club.

On the plus side, he says that he qualifies as a British player through his marriage.Great news!

I think Wellington had a weakened team, having already qualified. But great to see our man come through, and it sounds as if we can consign the "burning bridges/rifts" suggestion to the bin. Looking forward to seeing him in Tigers colours in November. What odds for him becoming Club Captai...

I think Wheeler and McGeechan are both right - until the rules are changed we will continue to see uncontested scrums, whether due to genuine injury, or by clubs using the existing rules to their advantage. I am surprised that we haven't had to do it more often, as it seems to be current practice to...

Yes, anyone know anything about Sam Raven? He might have an interesting afternoon against Justin Harrison. Good luck to Derek Hougaard on his debut, and if Alex Tuilagi stays fit, that's an interesting back line. Both teams seem to be taking the same approach to this game, so it might be quite inter...

I don't think being honest about your team's poor performances necessarily constitutes "burning your bridges", especially when it comes from someone as respected as Newby. BenWL, are your comments about Newby purely borne out of cynicism, or do you have information you would like to share ...

Tigerfeet13 - not sure about his e.t.a.

I agree with your sentiments, but it sounds as if he might be due a couple of weeks break. I imagine he may also need some time to ship his family over, and get them settled.

Craig Newby - leaving Otago frustrated by team's efforts

According to this press report our new boy is angered by his team not concentrating, and not performing in match situations. http://tinyurl.com/44uaw9 Now, where have we heard that before? Looking forward to seeing him, and his "AB attitude" at Welford Road. I hope he has some patience left!

Also, I think I saw Wayne Barnes go to the Wasp dugout before signalling uncontested scrums. Presumably he had asked whether there were any fit and able props. I also see that Wasps have only one prop on the bench again (as do Tigers). This seems to be the current convention, and is bound to result ...

Of course we need a referee in the middle, but since when has that stopped people commenting on them (or bleating, in your words)?

Also, Gimme, would you be able to bleat about the bleaters if they hadn't bleated in the first place? :smt002

As an aside - it's good to see Scot Bemand fit again (on the bench for Bath),although I hope he doesn't hit absolute top form on Saturday!

I'm not surprised - last Friday he was walking aroung the pitch at the final whistle, and looked fine.

I also wouldn't be too surprised to see him come off the field tomorrow tonight - 60 minutes would be my bet, with either Payne,or French soon after.

I too am surprised to see Erinle not in the 22,Tigerbob, unless he's not fit. Smith has been ok, but nothing more.Good to see Hipkiss back in the centre, but more fustration for TV. At least he be able to keep his hands warm on the bench! Also great to see Harry back. Really hope he is fit, and he i...

Are we getting into the footy "quick fix" mentality? We have a new Head Coach, and a Backs Coach who,I think, arrived in the middle of August. We are four games into a new season, with some new rules, and we have five international backs unavailable. Come on, at least give them a fair shot..

Not sure it really matters who the ref is at the moment - we've really got to stop giving so many penalties away, especially with someone as picky as Chris White. When I have seen him lately, he has struggled to get any control with front rows and the scrum in particular. Let's hope we've learned fr...
