Re: Fear to travel? Sale at Edgeley Park
Is there any way that people on this forum can stop saying "wendyball", "roundyball" etc and still think they are being witty? I quite agree. It's not big, and it's not clever. They should call it "girlie poo poo ball that smells of wee". Gate you should be ashamed! Th...

Re: Drugsgate pair lose appeal.
beckons and procedures rather than the old boys become more important - I think an out of tribunal settlement is the likely outcome. . Never in a million years will Andrew Brownsword agree to that. He will go to a Tribunal, an Appeal, The House of Lords, and the European Court and still not give th...

Re: Lions Agreement?
I'm sure the mandatory summer rest period pre-dates Rob Andrew's appointment Bill. It existed under the previous Long Form Agreement as well. Indeed it did. But it was renegotiated. Peter Wheeler and Rob Andrew agreed in the prelininary discussions that it be subject on an individual player basis t...

Re: Drugsgate pair lose appeal.
Good news. I don't expect to see them in the GP again. However in 6 months time there maybe one or more teams scrapping away at the bottom of the table that may take them on to improve their squad and give it the old "they have served their suspension and deserve a second chance" argument...

Re: Drugsgate pair lose appeal.
I expect them to surface "down under". I share the view that Employment Tribunals are slow to side with those who resign immediately before disciplinary hearings. We cannot, of course, know what Bath would have decided, but whatever it was they (Lipman and Crockett) would have had the righ...

Re: Lions Agreement?
This all goes back to negotiation between PRL and RFU.
The opening position was that rest periods would be agreed between Clubs and England. Randrew reneged on this (and other things) so PRL demanded more money so RFU paid. (that shortens it a bit!)

Re: Drugsgate pair lose appeal.
You are quite right - their appeal was turned down. i.e. they did not win. At the original hearing the fact that on the first occasion they were summoned to appear at the club on a pretence was presented in evidence and accepted by both Bath and the Disciplinary Officer. They then refused (to take a...
