Re: BBC catching up with this board
I read it this morning and tbh thought it was all a bit of a page-filler on a slow news day. Nice comfortable reading for us fans but basically just a rehash of the now familiar Tigers-rise-from-the-ashes story. The only new (to me) story was the one about SB on his first day in charge telling one ...

If we wish to bring in the full force of mediaeval condemnation how about: "Stipendium Peccati Mors Est" but it seems a bit OTT for two players who have simply decided not to renew their contracts (and given us plenty of time to identify replacements).

Re: Our next LH
Maybe it was significant that in his post-match comments, Steve Borthwick singled out Whitcombe for special praise. Ps Hope the "pork pie squad" label sticks!

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls
Now that mining is all but finished in this country, agriculture is highly mechanised and building sites are far more tightly controlled, it seems to me that being a professional rugby player is about the most physically demanding and dangerous mainstream occupation that's left. Maybe this observati...

Should we be worried about his knee? Genuine question, really don't know the answer.

Re: Creeping around the ruck
Agree with Bengal Tiger that it all hinges on the definition of what is a "bind". Is it fingers gripping team mate's shirt (which was how Sarries seemed to be interpreting it last weekend - with the ref's approval) or is it having at least part of the arm in close contact with a team mate....

Re: 21/22 Injury/Suspension Thread
The story is that Rod Kafer was once told by Deano that he was to be injured in the pre-match warm up so a change could be made to the announced team, Kafer was not in agreement with the suggestion and was assured by Deano that he would either be injured on the pitch or on his way back to the chang...

Nigel Starmer-Smith
Maybe others have read this story before but it was quite a shock to me this morning to see and read about Nigel Starmer-Smith. Older posters will remember him as a good England scrum half in the '70s and subsequently a decent commentator back in the time when the BBC covered rugby. His son has spok...

Re: World Rugby Player Of The Year 2021 : Nominees Announced
Are many rugby followers really interested in these utterly bogus accolades? The article doesn't even seem to make clear who drew up the short list (a journalist?). Personally I'm also rather sceptical about the "man of the match" awards that don't sit very comfortably with the idea that r...

Re: Which team would you support
:smt011 "Does anyone like Sarries or Chiefs?" Interesting question but firstly in interests of full disclosure: although Loughborough born and bred, I've lived nearly all my adult life in East London but the umbilical allegiance to Tigers ( and Leicester City and Leics CCC) has never weake...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: There and Back again a Tigers Tale by Steve Borthwick
Yes it is much appreciated RB. The thought crosses my mind that with all your research and knowledge about the Club that you could be one of those " non-exec" directors!
