Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Episode 3 The revenge of the Contracts.
I wonder if Sam Everleigh might get offered another opportunity in the development squad given what has happened to Gough I'd been thinking similar I must say, kpj. Gough had been impressing in a terrible Yorkshire side this season. It pales into insignificance with his awful accident but of our de...

So looking at the squad what do we need? Prop Centre x2 Wing/Full back Maybe a short term back rower for Brink for the rest of season. Rokoduguni still hasn't agreed amended terms with Bath, with the Beziers takeover seemingly off he could be a pretty ideal replacement for Veainu. Available all sea...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
Agreed that Barbeary looks one to watch. Will Capon at Bristol as well I expect to start making a big impact. Archie Vanes is in line to take over from Barbeary when he graduates from the England u20s. I wouldn't be surprised if Vanes manages to claim the starting hooker shirt for both seasons he's ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Episode 3 The revenge of the Contracts.
It does seem that the Taufua situation is going on for too long now, even after allowing extra time beyond his isolation. GM and Jan Mac have both recently made strong points about 'wanting to draw a line in the sand' and look forwards, and so it suggests that they would need to have this resolved ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Episode 3 The revenge of the Contracts.
It depends which season he is declared as a marquee. I don’t think it’s ever been confirmed who our 2nd marquee player is/was after Ford. We assume it’s either Taufua or Lavanini, but I can’t recollect that ever being confirmed It was not confirmed but with Taufua’s emotional ties to NZ I just beli...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
I hope James Voss gets another Championship contract. He couldn't make an impression whilst training with the senior squad here but he is a talented lock.
We could do worse than sign Luke Wallace as back row cover until the end of the postponed season at least.

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
Daily mail has some interesting news Rokoduguni and Faleteau both not signed new contracts just yet. Mercer was hesitate but believe teammates going to his house at 10pm before the deadline day convinced him. Also mentions Ibitoye leaving quins potentially. Plus, Irish, Worcester and Gloucester str...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
Does that apply to several seasons down the line? Current rules are that he'd have to be a Sale player for 2 full salary cap years prior to being made a marquee player. So that would be the 2022/23 season when Manu could be a marquee player for them. Those rules might be altered though with the cap...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
I suspect Sale were able to offer a marquee slot at some point beyond this season. Maybe part of the problem is Tigers already have them filled for the next couple of seasons? Marquee players can't be signed from another Prem club so Manu will be falling under the noose if he has signed for Sale. D...

Re: Manu Tuilagi
Next season is the test for Diamond - he's got an excellent team and Sarries will be absent. Premiership final and knockout stages of Champions Cup should be the expectations. 1.Coenie Oosthuizen 2.Akker van der Merwe 3.Jake Cooper-Wooley 4.Jean-Luc du Preez 5.Lood de Jager 6.Dan du Preez 7.Tom Cur...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20
It would be a shame to see Manu play for another Premiership team, but I suppose that's life. I wish him well, but it would really hurt to see him win anything with Sale! Not sure how I would feel if I was a Sale player who had just taken a pay cut and then they announce they have enough cash to si...

Re: Finishing this season
I an hoping we use the younger 9's with Ford a fair bit as it gets then used to playing with him & puts more responsibility on YBY when he plays we others at 10 & hopefully pressure on his starting position. If nothing else the nailed on starters need to be looking over their shoulders, com...

Re: Finishing this season
Brink won't play whilst completing this season as he's still rehabbing. I believe that Aspland-Robinson is still rehabbing as well. Brink's situation will surely open up opportunities for Smith and Gough to get onto the bench at least. I do wonder if Boladau might start training with Tigers again as...
