Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm
I find the whole ruck interpretation fundamentally flawed and needs changing/clarification. If a defending player goes beyond the ball and goes to ground or is taken to the ground there is a significant risk of being penalised. An attacking player entering a ruck seems entitled to dive beyond it, us...

Re: Other European games - 05-07th April 2024
Am I missing something? Bordeaux player deliberately slaps it forward in attack -scrum. Itoje slaps it down in defence and it’s a yellow. Time to scrap the concept of deliberate in terms of knock ons. Put the ball within reach of the opposition and any attempt to play it by an on side player is fine...

To be honest on the form we've displayed of late, Leinster could turn out their veteran's 3rd team and not break sweat!

Re: News story on concussion
I'm no expert, but I would imagine the forces involved in many rugby collisions are more extreme than being punched. I cant believe there isn't more said about Woman's boxing, there is so much written about breast cancer and repeated blows to a sensitve area must be an increased risk? Similar risk ...

Re: JVP
He certainly looked like he was mentally retired against Gloucester. No thoughts of running or sniping around the ruck. He needs to find some form to justify selection ahead of Whiteley.

Re: Tigers v Newcastle (A) - Premiership - Friday 29th March 2024 - KO: 19-45
It is frustrating that a handful of teams provide the England players and are disadvantaged by both the world Cup and the 6N. Play the 6N on consecutive weekends and reduce the number of teams at the world cup. Or have a system that means that sides providing England players. Perhaps that sides with...

Re: Saudi Arabia in talks to buy stake in Tigers
Sponsorship or loan with no expectation or obligation to repay are effectively the same thing in terms of cash flow but. One appears as income, the other doesn’t. If you make a loss you won’t pay tax on profits. If the sponsor loans the money and then subsequently writes it off as a loss, the tax po...

Agree our backs seem to have no structure in attack.
Using Kata as the crash ball every time is as predictable as Cockers “Chuck it to Manu” but less effective. The initial boshing should be role of the forwards, but it’s not happening.

Re: JVP
And Player of the Match tonight. Yes well deserved but I believe he was pulled off too early, ( had we not had Leinster next week) as he got the line moving and Whitely was caught several times & penalised. JVP to start v Leinster and Lenny on the bench. Whiteley is a liability he costs us more...

Re: JVP
He certainly showed why we will lose him to England again!
Serious gas and an eye for space.
It's what we do outside him and Pollard. No structure or offloading.

Re: Tigers v Newcastle (A) - Premiership - Friday 29th March 2024 - KO: 19-45
The absence of an attack coach is all too apparent. Beyond a rolling maul and Pollard’s cross field kicks have we seen any consistent attacking theme? One decent run, passing along the line for OH-C try, absolutely nothing. Is our attack coach situation resolved? If not we need to bring someone in u...

Sounds a bit like the Cockers/O’Connor era.
Let’s hope we don’t slip back into the risk averse team that stifles attack and plays mediocre Kolpak journeymen because it’s safer than giving youngsters an opportunity.

Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO
The TMO should not get commentary. Secondly the TV screens at the grounds should only show the main screen live feed unless asked to show something to the ref by the TMO. The TMO system at international level perhaps needs it’s own equivalent of the producers/directors room where an independent team...

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45
I suspect shipping points and lack of attack are linked. If your only means of getting the ball up the field is to kick it to the opposition you will give them the opportunity to keep the ball and attack you. Points tend to be scored by the stacking side. Our attack seemed only to be the rolling mau...
