Re: Lions v Oz
Dividing the stats showing the number of tackles etc by the number of minutes played, gives a skewed result when the time played is relatively small. A player could come on as a sub, play his socks off for 20 minutes, turn ball over, tackle everything that moves etc - but when he has to play for 80 ...

Lions v Oz
Best of luck to all the lads selected for todays game squad. In particular the Tigers contingent, who I'm confident will do the club and the Lions proud.

Re: Queensland Reds v Lions
From this side of the border I thought the Tigers amongst the Lions aquitted themselves well. I have a feeling that Manu will enjoy this stage, becoming one of the stars of the tour - and could well elbow Roberts out of the test side.

Yes, I know he is - but his views and commentary are still biased towards England.

Re: BBC commentary
For examples of bias I can refer you to Sky Rugby Club - most Sky rugby commentaries and Ian Robertson on BBC Radio. All examples of severe leanings towards England.

Re: England vs Wales: 6 Nations
This new England side have won 2 difficult games away and narrowly lost a game at home under a coach who's probably most peoples 2nd or 3rd choice for the job. So I don't think that England supporters should be too discouraged for the future of English rugby.

ps - Wales v England
Just want to make one final unbiased comment on yesterday's game : I think England must have been relieved that a) the Lions front row weren't playing, b) they were playing 14 men for 20 minutes and finally c) that Wales had picked a TV 'poser' in the centre!!

Re: 6 Nations - 2010 predictions
I think the one thing that's come out of this thread is that the 6 Nations next year is going to be more open than it's ever been.
That's what makes the 6 Nations so exciting and unpredictable - and ensures it continues to be the envy of the Southern Hemisphere rugby playing countries!

Vivent la différence
Just to merge a few threads and put them to bed - I think most sensible people would agree that what makes the EDF & Heineken cups so interesting (and exciting) is the fact the teams involved come from different leagues - Guinness, Magners & French - thus the fact that the 'playing field' be...

Re: Magners League
I used to think that Tigers' fans were fair minded - but I've since changed my mind. You seem to make all sorts of excuses for ML sides beating you - bad and/or biased refereeing, dirty play, players being rested, understrength teams - etc etc. What about the better team winning? Plus even you have ...

Yellow Card Syndrome
Even the most myopic, ardent English supporter must now admit that you cannot blame the refs for the yellow card disease suffered by England. Unless they manage to stamp this out they are going to remain a second rate team.
