as an outsider, the penalty scrum seemed to arrive quite soon on. Actually, I thought it came at the wrong time. The scrum for which the penalty try was awarded was not Leicester's most convincing, and I guess it was given for repeat offending. And that's not how penalty tries work. I felt it shoul...

The selection of Burke was not criticised "in hindsight". It was a bad call. And the many Leicester fans who were agog at the witlessness of it since the side was announced were matched by the many Munster fans who were delighted to see his name on the teamsheet. He is not the best 10 at t...

Further to my previous post about constant tinkering with the startign line-up, I've had a look at the other teams in the GP. We are the worst offenders. By quite a distance. Average number of personnel or positional changes from one GP game to the next - 1. Bristol (1.75) 2. Saints (3.0) 3. Saracen...

Seeing Bristols stats do you need a backs coach, they are top because of an impressive defensive record. They are scoring tries, too. Lemi has 4, and Robinson and Perry both have 3. Our joint top try-scorer is Penalty Try with 2.... They have scored 18 GP tries to our 9. It's not just defence that's...

Your preference or who you think will be picked? I read in the Daily Mail that they believe this will be the side (and I really hope not...) 1. Freshwater 2. Chuter 3. White 4. Grewcock 5. Jones 6. Corry 7. Moody 8. Sanderson / Forrester 9. Perry 10. Hodgson 11. Cohen 12. Barkley 13. Noon 14. Cueto ...

I don't know if Nikos is a Toulouse fan or not, but if he is that would explain his absence. The big story of the round would be Clermont's demolition job on ST to leapfrog them to second in the table. Toulouse now have 1 win in 5, and their last result was that 46-9 demolition. Stade won... again. ...

Unohoo, You're right - the club should wait until a few moments before kick-off before revealing their side. After all, sometimes a player will have to drop out after picking up an injury during the warm-up (Moreno). The club know who is in the side and the players know. Any changes will be due to u...

Got to agree with the general sentiment that he's a long way off. He had it too easy at schoolboy level, which is why many of his other skills are way behind the level they should be. The more he gets exposed and tested, though, the more he will be aware of his weaknesses and the more he will work o...

Perhaps the initial post was a touch harsh, but Tiger players should not be considered free from justifiable criticism. And Burke was poor. But not only was he poor - that's acceptable ina good player as long as they play well sometimes, too - but he was predictably poor. He was reaching the end of ...

<<There are possbly only 2 fly halves in the league better than Goode at the moment. IMHO. Hodgeson and Barkley.>> A bold statement. Especially given some of the performances of Spencer, and the fact that Barkley is playing at 12. I gather Willie Walker's been very impressive, too. With this selecti...

He also played for Bordeaux before he came to Tigers, then went to another French team (not sure which) before going to Leeds for a season, and then heading off to Clermont. The guy is well travelled. That's 8 clubs now. The last 5 of which he was just a sub for a season before moving on. Journeyman...

Not really a worry as Henry is replaced by Crane, and Brett Deacon seems to be putting in plenty of time at 8 for the As.

Alex hasn’t even played yet. Varndell, Rabeni and Lloyd can all play wing and will not feature in the AIs, and Hipkiss and Smith can also fit in.

Does the absence of Crane and Cullen from both the First and A squads mean that both are injured?
