Re: AP Run In - La La Land or Moonlight

Think we will lose Friday,Quins mauled us comfortably so Exeter will have no problem! It will all come down to the clash, whoever wins that will get fourth but we won't finish any higher than that I'm afraid. I agree that Parling; Waldrom et al will provide a big test on Friday, perhaps the biggest ...

AP Run In - La La Land or Moonlight

With 6 games left the crystal ball clears just a little bit. Obviously top 4 is now in our own hands, given we have yet to play Bath, but looking at the run of current top 5 shows some interesting possibilities. Club (points ahead of Tigers) Wasps (13) – Bath (a);Worcester(h);Saints(h);Bristol(a);Qu...

Re: Team's up v Quins:

I hope you are right. There is a lot of rotation from Tigers - hope they gel. Agree about the backline, but don't dismiss Quins too lightly as I think they are unbeaten at home in the AP this season - so far! They've not played us yet COME ON YOU TIGERRRrrrrsssssss :smt027 :smt027 :smt027 Not playe...

Times report Ford on his way to Tigers

Strong story in the Times this morning saying GF on his way and Freddie going in opposite direction to Bath. GF to be paid 450k, and turned down Sale who offered more.

Story written with a lot of confidence though careful to say it is not official. Also says his Dad is not joining him!

Thacker at 7 is the interesting bit.
Hope HT lasts the match with Bo'C at 16, or are we hoping for uncontested scrums a la Insects?
Good spot. Seems odd...
My guess is the 23 had to contain complete front row cover... And this one does with HT at 7.

Re: Better news than Mermoz!

rdracup I admire your optimism but have a gut feeling the only silverware we are going to see this season, is possibly the Anglo Welsh Trophy and hopefully a 4th place finish in the Aviva, I'm afraid that's all we can hope for. I don't think we disagree on the likely best outcome, my point was the ...

Re: Better news than Mermoz!

I don't know Hinckley Bob if they had admitted that we have very little chance of winning anything remotely important this season some people would have respected them for displaying honesty. Imagine being in a small, say 50 employee, family friendly company. The board call a company meeting and sa...

Re: Better news than Mermoz!

William Hill have Tigers at 33-1 to be Premiership champions. (Bath 10-1, Exeter 7-1). They expect Wasps/Sarries to contest the final, with Sarries as favourites. Not exactly rocket science to predict the likely final. Actually I think 33-1 are pretty good odds, as 4th is a realistic aim. Bath have ...

Re: The Tigers business model

No rdracup I'm saying that although hindsight is wonderful, foresight is much more so, What they have done in the last two \weeks should have been done in June 2014 and if it had been we wouldn't be in the pickle we are in today, When I worked in Travel as a Tour operations director we had to look ...

Re: Ed Slater suspended

Posted too soon. Slater now cited and hearing is Monday. Citing officer seemed to miss the deadline but "exceptional circumstances" or slow update on website at EPC Rugby seems that he has to face "justice". Makes more sense now for club to impose own ban, since any punishment sh...

Re: The Tigers business model

If Simon Cohen and the rest of the board are blaming the coaching staff for Tigers current failings then they are wrong to do so. After all it was they who appointed most of the current coaching staff, So why not be man enough about it and fall on your sword. You possess ultimate responsibility for...

Re: Tigers DOR rumours.

What should change is the willingness to realise that to make Tigers great again does not require a Tigers first policy in selecting a new DoR, Coach, or sticking with a traditional Tigers set up. The rugby world has moved on, and remember inbreeding does not produce good DNA. We need to tap into a...

Re: Tigers v Saints AWC Saturday 28th Jan.

Any speculation on the crowd? Obviously there is the announced Tickets sold number which starts at season tickets sold + any additional. Maybe 17/18,000. Attendance - well - 10/11,000 perhap. Given it is on (BT) TV it might even be less, though i hope not. Club website is saying 'tickets in huge de...

Re: The Tigers business model

At last Cohen speaks. What I meant was he is saying the board have done everything they can financially and support wise for the playing side - and therefore it's down to those involved on the playing side for the failings. TBH I largely agree with him. He was probably sold the Mauger dream ticket ...
