Re: England V Argentina
With how the players in argentina have played i expect the starting line up for the AI's to go something like this 1. Vunipola 2. Youngs 3. Cole 4. Launchberry 5. Parling 6. Croft 7. Kvesic 8. Morgan 9. Youngs 10. Burns 11. Wade 12. Twelvetrees 13. Tuilagi 14. Yarde 15. Brown Hard to disagree with ...

Re: England V Argentina
I really enjoyed this match and thought England were superb from 1 to 15. I agree with other comments about Yarde, he looks a star in the making. Likewise Eastmond was superb with ball in hand, running and distribution. Also thought all the forwards played well, Webber looked v good at hooker and wi...

Re: Croft, Tom Youngs only as starters....
Manu is not even in the 23 for Tuesday so there's absolutely no chance (IMHO) of him starting on Saturday.
If his shoulder is compleyely mended however there is a bench possibility, I can't see Roberts being fit in which case Davies and BOD will start and rightly so. Davies had a stormer yesterday.

Re: Combined Country v Lions
As there are only Farrel and sexton on the tour as FH, I'm sure this side has been picked so that they do not get injured before the 1st test match, and having to send for someone to come out for then. Yes that is obviously correct and both Farrell and Sexton had slight niggles at the end of yester...

Re: Queensland Reds v Lions
Twas a good game especially the first half. Don't think anybody played really badly but agree that Warburton and Lidiate lack match sharpness. At the moment my Test back row would be O'Brien, Croft and Heaslip, With Tupuric ahead of SW in the pecking order at 7. Will Gatland have the guts not to pic...

Re: Barwell steps down at Saints
Leon Barwell is a good man and has done well filling the large boots of his Father.
He's also very young (mid 40's) and I understand he has been battling cancer, so a little respect and sympathy might be more appropriate on this thread.

Re: England V Argentina
It was far from a full strength Pumas side. Having said that the first half display was excellent but the 2nd half was really poor with a string of penalties and needless kicking away of possession. Hopefully the Argies will pick a stronger team next week, and also hopefully we can improve our disci...

Team confirmed in Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/article-2338202/British-Irish-Lions-2013-Brian-ODriscoll-returns-captain-Combined-Countries.html Cannot believe that the Lions are to play a proper tour match with a 10 that's not played that position at senior level and replacement ...

Re: Brian Moore
What saddens me about the Lawes/Flood thing is that Lawes knew exactly what he was doing and that his intention seemed to be to hurt the player and not defend against him. I have always had a lot of time for Lawes, he's a great player, hit by some unfortunately timed injuries, but got himself back ...

Re: Brian Moore
I repeat if Cockers had sat in his chair for a minute longer and watched the replay, he would have seen it was not a dangerous tackle, just a tiny bit late - penalty not yellow card. It was Cole's knee that knocked Floody out. If Salvi or Croft had made a similar tackle on Myler and Mallinder had ma...

Re: Hartley Disciplinary hearing!
No I don't. He only has himself to blame. He should have considered the consequences before opening his juvenile mouth. You have missed he point of my post - why weeks and not matches? Ok in many cases you are right bans should be matches not weeks. However surely every disciplinary hearing is indi...

What you don't think missing a once in 4 years (possibly life time) tour is punishment enough?!!wardy wrote:Eleven weeks is nothing. Its all closed season. OK he misses the Lions tour but why oh why are bans termed in weeks rather than matches!!

Re: Myler
Barnes got most of the big decisions right and generally had a decent game. He and/or the AR clearly saw the incident with Lawes/Flood clearly enough and decided quite rightly that there was no reason to consult the TMO. Their decision to award a penalty and not a yellow was correct. If Cockers had ...
