Re: Womens Team

They definitely need to recruit in some positions. Agree that we don’t want to make wholesale changes but we also don’t want to be the whipping boys oops sorry girls It’s a difficult balance, to be sure. I’ve not watched enough women’s rugby to confidently judge how big a step up it’s going to be…....

Re: Play Off Semi-final - Sale - 14th May 2023 - KO 3-00pm

This is certainly the way to do it. A really pragmatic approach. Sell tickets to the likely match and refund if it changes. Give everyone a fair shout at getting tickets. Would be nice to see Sale announce similar and I guess we will see whether getting as much home crowd advantage as possible trum...

Re: Womens Team

Hopefully realistically modest goals for next season - and the one after. It’s bound to be tough, but would be good to see them being patient and building for the long term rather then bringing a whole lot of new players in to get some quick wins!

Re: Womens Team

Not really galling. They probably haven’t got the funding to enter the premier 15’s. Cheltenham also drafted in some dual registered players from Gloucester Hartbury for the final which in my opinion is not in the spirit of the game. I wasn’t implying there was anything unfair or underhand about Ti...

Re: Womens Team

:smt027 q I’ve not read all of this thread but perhaps someone could let me know something. Does this defeat mean that Tigers women have to stay in their current league.? Or do they get to go into Premier 15s or whatever it’s called in some pre arrangement, irrespective of the result of the final? T...

Touche, moi aussi.

Girls played very well but I think we lost it when we changed the front row.
Very even game - Cheltenham’s back 3 we’re perhaps the key factor in the result for me.

Re: European semi finals

Another game decided by cards. I’m not saying they were not warranted (although I’m not convinced by the second one), but rugby must be the only major sport where this happens. I’m not entirely sure what could be done, but something needs to be. I don’t think it’s true that this only happens in rug...

Anyone know how many coaches are on their way down? I’m on my way by train as I had other plans for London this weekend, and holding there’ll be lots of other Tigers fans joining me. Very excited about the prospect of a 1st trophy for a fantastic squad!

I plan to attend this game. Had all my shots to travel across the border…and am equipped with a phrasebook of pictures in case I have trouble communicating. Will be careful not to mention the concept of ‘defence in rugby union’ for fear of antagonising the locals You’ll be fine. However, you have r...

Re: Contenders for end of season awards?

Can I just throw this into the chat, were it not for the efforts of one individual we would not now be in the position we are now of that I have no doubt whatsoever. That of RW, he gave JM the captaincy, in support from HL(admitted he wasn't vocal enough) & BY, that created this team togetherne...

Not quite a trend yet, but it’s happening more often. We need more referees like the one who called out Ox Nyche recently - gave a penalty against and marched him back 10m.

I’d never noticed that before. Actually surprised the authorities allow it. Hardly in keeping with efforts to change the game’s image.

Sarries stadium announcer having to whip up the crowd already. Between him and the band, it’s a bit of a cringe-fest😔

Rugby is always beautiful when played in green, white and red 😉
