Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6
For me it's about building a 'team' of players that compliment each other and work well together. That is one of the key challenges for the coaching team as recruiting players that work well together is a challenge. Quality individuals of international class are important but don't win games on thei...

Are you ready??
Good interview with Mike Ford on LTTV.
I'm sure all those on here who struggle to see anything positive are readying themselves to read between every line and dismiss this as another disaster for the club.
Looking forward to it

Re: Ben Youngs
It's just so obvious to me. Any scrum half requires his forwards to be going forward and the ball to be presented quickly and securely. This allows support runners to time their runs and provides a stable platform for box kicking, distribution of quick ball and the opportunity to make a break. Yes s...

Re: New Coach?
Is anyone else bored with this debate again??? :smt015 But here's my twopenneth! I'm assuming Geordie and his coaching team will have their shopping list and that negotiations on player acquisitions are ongoing or in the majority of cases completed. Given the number of players who look to be leaving...

Re: Podcast with Simon Cohen
Not sure why anyone wouldn't want to listen to this or the other podcasts. I think this series is great and gives a real insight into lots of aspects of rugby, not just the Tigers. I'm sure people will want to be synicle about how true it all is buts that's their prerogative. I thought Simon Cohen p...

Re: Sarries being investigated
I find the news emanating from the world of Rugby over the last couple of weeks very depressing. Taking a holistic view whatever happens with the salary cap investigations and the debate over a world nations league the sport looks to be in for significant change, not for the better in my opinion. I ...

Re: Sarries being investigated
The most telling comment by Walkinshaw is that he views breaching the cap in the same category as taking performance enhancing drugs. If that doesn't kick the powers that be into life I doubt anything will.
I'm getting more hopeful that this time it might not go away!

Re: Manu to Racing 92?
So both our first choice centres who cost a fortune and we've struggled to keep on the pitch are off.
Personally I see this as a positive on the assumption the available funds are invested wisely.

Re: Sarries next week
I haven't read the thread to the bitter end but struck me that in two consecutive posts we had: we are 10 years away from catching up with the top clubs and then from another poster: I expect the Tigers to win every game. I am not really sure you can have a sensible conversation when people are pos...

Re: Sarries next week
Not sure what's more depressing watching the team play or reading this forum. Do we really have to churn out the same comments after every game when pretty much everyone agrees on what the problems are? I think the majority (although not all) are behind Geordie and understand that there will not be ...

Re: Murphy appointed head coach
If you take the optimistic and positive view then the fact that Geordan knows Phil Blake, the way he works and the type of guy he is would make this a good appointment. I don't think he did too much wrong from a coaching perspective when he was here before. Geordan obviously thinks he will fit in we...

Re: Murphy appointed head coach
I've nothing against Geordan and wish him every success. I'm hoping this appointment is to remove any uncertainty and give him the authority to build the team and structure he wants. You would like to think that discussions have been had on player retention/recruitment and the ultimate structure of ...

Re: Tigers v Racing
I always try to keep my glass half full and that's becoming easier with the decline in the number of supporters and therefore the queue at the bar! From a rugby perspective it is becoming almost impossible. I can't see a single positive from yesterday's game, maybe the scrum if you had to find somet...
