Re: Is Lavanini going to be a liability?

People were bemoaning the lack of physicality from the pack last season. Lavanini has this in spades. Him and Green are locks you can build a nasty pack around.

Agreed, we need to go full noise for this match and get a settled team ready for Worcester.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

I imagine McPhillips was signed to replace Joe Ford as he has shown great potential in the past so was worth a try. However, it seems that Hardwick must have been smashing it in training and has leapfrogged him to 3rd choice fly half, especially as he can also cover 12. His offload against Exeter wa...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Johnny McPhillips has joined Doncaster Knights on loan from Leicester Tigers until the end of the season on a dual-registered contract.

Obviously the coaching set up has faith in Hardwick covering 10 this season. Looked good in preseason.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Interesting what Forsyth has said: "I am enjoying every day, going hard and seeing where I get to." I’ve been impressed from what I’ve seen. Given that we have no centres coming up from the development squad I would like to see him retained for this and next season. From what he’s said may...

Re: PRC Round 3 - Bath vs Tigers

I would go with a similar set up to the first game, giving gametime to players who haven’t yet had any minutes. Gigena Kerr Leatigaga Wells Jordan Lewis Reffell Smith Simmons McPhillips Taute Viljoen Forsyth Thompstone Steward Hills Clare Cortes Martin Boladau White Hardwick Thomas Been very impress...

Re: PRC Round 3 - Bath vs Tigers

Taute did play 12 for Munster in his last season as well as 13. So could see a partnership of Taute Viljoen against Bath with a view of them starting against Worcester.

Any news on Adam Thompstone?

Re: PRC Round 2 - Tigers vs Exeter

Very strong looking pack, imagine we’ll see that set start against Worcester. To think we still have the internationals come back into the forwards shows we’re will stocked in that department. Hoping for a strong and dynamic performance from Coghlan at 8. Eastmond and Olowofela have much to prove, c...

I would put out an even stronger team than that for the game against Exeter. Need to get some momentum for the home games.

Re: PRC Round 1 - Warriors vs Tigers

Oh wow anyone seen the team Sale are putting out for their first game? They’ve got a very good squad for next season, to think that isn’t their first choice backrow.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

It was confirmed at last nights supporters meeting that Liebenberg is Denton's replacement Makes sense, if you think of the backrowers who’ve left and the incoming replacements. Williams - Taufua Denton - Liebenberg O’Connor - Reffell Evans - Coghlan Mapapalangi - Lewis Tuilagi - N/A Expecting big ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Given the quality additions in the pack such as Lavanini, Green, Liebenberg and Taufua, wouldn’t be surprised if his cap had already been spent.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Kwagga Smith was rumoured to be coming to a premiership club. Argentina also have some young backrowers like Kremer and Bruni who also could be good additions.

Re: PRC Round 1 - Warriors vs Tigers

Need to see Sam Lewis get some gametime at 6 over Lavin. Could be very dynamic in the same mould as Croft, has some decent pace and a good offload. Looked good for us in the games last year in the limited chances he got.
