Re: Ford V Gloucester...Yes or No?
I agree with JG. It was interesting to watch 12T, Agulla and Grindal playing with a level of confidence that was lacking before they knew they were leaving. With Ford, Murphy and of course the forwards playing brilliantly as well, it was a great game to watch. With Gloucester's backs even more excit...

Re: Ford V Gloucester...Yes or No?
I agree. I thought Ford, 12T and Agulla (and Geordan) all had a great match, the best I have seen from Tigers backs for a long while. If Cockers had any nouse about him he would sign all three up on long contracts asap.I would say start with Ford and 12T. So likely we wont!!

Re: What style should we play?
If a good new coach couldn't change the way the players played the game, then why have a coach at all? I'm in favour of more practising with a ball (with hands and feet) and more speed work, with less bulking up gym work for the backs especially. I am also in favour of expecting the players to think...

Re: Captain Murphy speaks to the critics
I agree, and we true fans will be down at Welford Road next week.Geordan's plea for all faithful fans to continue to support the players and the club will be heeded.
I chose those words carefully!
Will you?

Re: Cockerill's future
If you mean 'handling weights', I guess they are highly skilled at that.I think the necessary handling skills are a given at this level?
But handling or kicking a ball - they regularly seem as if they have rarely practised that!

Re: Cockerill's future
I am encouraged to hear from the players meeting that they want to move to a more "off loading type of game" So even the players know the way they have been coached is wrong! Though of course no player at the Club will ever be stupid enough to criticize the coaches in public. At least not...

Re: 11th out of 12.
There again if you look at the last 8 premiership games (post WC) I think we are one of, if not the best, performing teams in the country. Six wins out of the last eight premiership games! But only two of these matches were against teams currently in the top five of a mediocre premiership - Exeter ...

Re: Garvey announces Worcester departure...
Most supporters will always naively think that incoming players will magically turn out to be wonderful after donning Tigers' kit. Many months later when the sad realisation sinks in that they are mere journeymen, there will be a new set of incomers. And the cycle will begin all over again. ps no wa...

Re: Cockerill's future
We as coaches can train and coach the squad as much and as well as we can ..............
But if the incredibly important mental aspects are ignored or considerably mistreated by the coaches, the players will never regularly perform to the standard their abilities suggest.

Re: Cockerill's future
I'm sure he's hammering home ................. The players then appeared to panic and dug themselves into a spiral of errors, trying to force the game - many of those players seasoned premiership or international standard players. So I ask the question, is that Cockerill's fault ? Of course it is! ...

Re: Cockerill's future
if the players aren't playing to their ability...there's nothing that you can do. Quite to the contrary. When players aren't playing to their ability, that's when a good coach earns his money. Motivation, self-confidence, enjoyment, team work, determination, inspiration, imagination are all words t...

Re: Bowden and Thompstone on route!!
So it's bye-bye Ford, Lewington and Forsyth, as well as Twelvetrees then.
It's a shame Tigers do not have coaches capable of bringing on their own talent, instead of merely relying on better coaches from other clubs to do their work for them.
It is time for our two main coaches to leave.
