Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
Too many inaccuracies to reply to each, but here’s how I see it. Posters, irrespective of their position, are simply stating and restating, ad nauseam, the same old partisan lines that are being trotted out in the press, full of inaccuracies and half-truths. As an opinion, and in disregard of what ...

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
Yeah it's interesting how someone, who is obviously trusted and respected by the blazers at the RFU and has been welcomed with open arms by them onto the RWC board, who would in most other circumstances be labelled as 'another blazer with their snout in the trough' suddenly becomes the purveyor of ...

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
I agree utterly, dispels all myths & proves that PRL are on the side of the angels ........................... always assuming you completely engage a willingness to believe that everything stated is the truth the whole truth & nothing but the truth. Well, that and the fact that, you need h...

Doesn't it just! All that Celtitalian supposition dealt with, not that they will change their views.tigerburnie wrote:http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugb ... ns-6122571
This rather dispells a lot of myths.

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
Equally, you have to accept that signing a TV deal with BT a year ago means thatt the PRL clubs were no longer committed to negotiation 12 months ago and all of their pronouncements about being committed to it since then were just bluster. In other words just after they handed in their notice. So t...

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
A view from welsh legend John Taylor http://www.espn.co.uk/heineken-cup-2013-14/rugby/story/200391.html Wise words, from someone who is not only a proud Celt but was once a PRL insider. They are wise words, but only if you accept the PRL line as gospel. He is correct in that ERC were slack and prob...

It's a business, and restraint of trade laws will apply.SouthMunster wrote:So says Nigel Wray. And to the IRB he says:"We could be in engineering or pharmaceuticals, all we want to do is run a business."
Do you get his drift?"Sorry Mr Gosper, but it's none of your business."

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
re the scrum question, yes I was serious and we do get the BT feed. I think it’s a move forward, but not the finished article yet. Tigers have been a team with massive front rows of brick built props. Are they a thing of the past with no 'hit' on the engage? Excuse me for doubting you but I thought...

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
"snipewatson Anyway on a Rugby note, how are the new scrum laws going down at Welford Road?" Not sure if that was tongue in cheek or if you can get BT sport through the SKY medium in Ulster, but from the Exeter match it seems that if the scrum is refereed fairly, Tigers are learning how to...

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
"Baggy Trousers Frankly, though he is clearly a man who has made a few quid, in rugby terms I wouldn't trust him to know the right way round to sit on a toilet." Nigel Wray made his money by being hard-nosed in business. Sorries is another of his businesses, even though you might use that ...

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
So you can rest players during the season and save enough of their 2400 minutes to rest them again in the build up to Heineken cup games. Its not so much about resting/rotating players, its when you are able to do it, without screwing up your chances of qualifying for next seasons European competit...

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution
Whether you agree with their position or believe what they are saying, ERC maintain that they are open to negotiation and change. Belatedly. Premiership Rugby on the other hand and regardless of whether you think they are right are the ones who are not prepared to negotiate and are dictating the wa...

Re: Tigers v Exeter
If Tait is fit he has to start. I know you could argue that he hasn't had much game time but he has so much more experience when compared to Scully (can't really compare circa 40 caps (including a WC final against playing 1 AP game and a bit of sevens). Scully will be a good player but not in the s...
