Manu's stats for that game:

9 carries for 100m
1 clean break, 3 defenders beaten, 3 offloads
5 tackles made, none missed

Mind you, he did get caught from behind once, so.... yeah...

Re: Tigers v Sale

Having sufficiently recovered i'm going to try to rate each players performance. 1 Bateman worked really hard in loose etc, got pinged a couple of times in scrum. 5 2 Youngs, ditto, much improved lineout, 6 3 Cole, shadow of his former self, 5 4 Williams, worked really hard in tight, 5 5 Kitchener,...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19

that puts a fit Genge on the bench then you would think? Depends how Rapava-Ruskin takes to international rugby while Genge is still injured. He's an extremely competent scrummager and powerful in the loose, and if he becomes the default back-up to Vunipola while Genge is still recovering then it w...

Note: must sign Mills to replace Toomua. Class - underrated - player.
Yup. Really thought he'd go on to great things, but injuries curbed his career development. He's a big lad, but with such a great skill-set. Like a consistent Twelvetrees.

Re: Tigers v Warriors

Don't think anybody else has mentioned it so it's probably me but just before the first Worcester try, player brought down with a tackle short of the line, gets to his feet without appearing to release and regather the ball and then passes for the try to be scored. Isn't not releasing the ball on b...

Re: Tigers v Warriors

Tom Youngs, throw in on our 10m line defensive lineout is overthrown, caught by Worcester and a try is immediately conceded. Johnny May with minutes left on the clock, instead of hoofing the ball into touch from the Worcester restart, he decides its better to do his headless chicken cross pitch run...

Re: Wasps Vs Tigers

Nick Mullins just tweeted... "27, 27, 19, 24, 20, 20, 19, 20. The ages on that Leicester bench. Geordan Murphy telling us he’ll back Tigers’ cubs" Good! Five starters came out of the Tigers' academy, and seven of the subs. It would be good to see a few of those kids coming off the bench a...

Re: Wasps Vs Tigers

Didn't Thompson say his favoured position was 7? He's a good openside. He played a lot there for Wasps, and if it was not for the fact that Thomas Young and Jack Willis were so outstanding in the position then he'd have played a lot more. As it happens, with Wasps' injuries he's certainly the best ...

Re: Great quote

All that 4071 and yet no mention if Tadhg Furlong, or Olowafela or Simmons for that matter. When the right quality is present MOC will give it chances. I'm sure Olowofela enjoyed the view from the bench for the full 80. Simmons did get a few games last season, which was good to see. At least MOC di...

Re: MOC GONE

On the face of it the timing of this - one game in - seems unfortunate. If there was serious disquiet after last season then what happened today should have happened ages ago giving time to recruit a replacement...or give the guy a chance to redeem himself. I suspect Saturday was the proverbial str...

Re: Great quote

Further to the above, it's only a shame that when we did offload Cockerill we conducted a 'worldwide' search to find a DOR who embodied all of Cockerill's flaws, just without the ability to get the best out of the team when backs were against the wall. MOC has been notorious for his short stints at ...

Re: Great quote

Richard Cockerill on getting praised for Edinburgh's season: Getting praise for Edinburgh finishing 5th in PRO14 left Richard Cockerill puzzled. “Finishing 5th would have got me the sack at Leicester Tigers ,”he says. “In fact I got sacked for less at Leicester. It's not about where you finish, it'...

Re: No top 4 for Tigers?

I am confident Tigers will finish higher than both Saints and Gloucester. I am willing to make a donation to the Matt Hampson Foundation if this doesnt happen. Now are you only donating if Tigers doesn’t finish higher than both teams or just one? Either! Just one if you like? Cheques should be made...

Announced last night, alongside Niki Goneva as Player of the Year and a certain former Mr Richards as Coach of the Year, was this "Dream Team" . I make that 6 current or ex-Tigers and a 4,5,6 combo to boot. Mind you I wouldnt have Gibson near it.... Gibson has been excellent in a monument...

Re: Height of tackle

This happens, I'm gone. The changes to rugby have mullered the game (ruck, scrum, offside) and that would be the last straw. Did you even read the proposal? It was all about trying to get players to tackle lower, not penalizing low tackles. Making the legal height slightly lower - to below the line...
