Re: It's all about decision making

Sibarite, nothing to do with Tigers at all.
Saracens are very good at what they set out to do, that is to win. I personally think that Saracens, at Exeter, were not a team that I would have spent money to watch.

Re: It's all about decision making

I don't think that I was being anti-Saracens at all, certainly not being a hypocrite, I recognise that they are a very good team, with outstanding results lately. Their control and basic skill levels are really the best in the Premiership at the moment. And on top of that they know how far to push t...

Re: It's all about decision making

Thinking about the point made by TigerCaspian earlier, I too became bored by Saracens at the weekend. Yes they were very focussed and clinical, but I really wanted Exeter to take them apart with fast thinking, flowing rugby. Every one of their players hits very hard and work as a unit. Their managem...

Re: Brive v Grenoble - A bit of a distraction after Wasps

Crikey, that was bad! I have been on a couple of French sites to see a replay of the game, just to see what led to it, but not found anything yet!

Re: It's all about decision making

Totally agree, they seemed to keep it so simple. They had a belief that they would win each contact, never committing too many to the breakdown.
We have a lot of catching up to do!

Re: The Moaners and Trolls Holiday Home.

I met a friend for coffee this morning. He is not a big rugby fan, played it in his youth and at university. He went to the game on Saturday with 3 friends, who are slightly less committed than he is. They all loved the game, both in content, and as a spectacle. The only area that he was concerned a...

Re: Should they be in trouble or not?

Going back to the OP, I believe that they should be censored. We are losing sight of what Rugby is about and that is the Spirit of the game. I believe that covers conduct, both on and off the field, respect for officials, players and spectators. Saracens have recently thought they are above censure ...

Re: Performance Management

Where did KPIs sit with Dean Richards. How could you measure his contribution, his knowledge, his positioning.
In our current team there is no measure available for Veainu's hand/eye/feet coordination.

Beware of KPIs, as they are an aid, not an answer?

Re: Excuses

On Friday, whilst shopping in Leicester, I bumped into an ex-colleague, who is a Saints STH. He wasn't enthusiastic about the coming season, and thought that his DoR would be gone if Saints didn't make the playoffs. He was saying that recruitment there is iffy, with Picamoles being the prime example...

Re: When was the last time

Our replacement front row did that much damage when they came on? From my memory it has been at least a couple of season since we last managed to destroy a team with our bench pack. McGuigan Genge Cole Kitchener even Evans TBF all our replacements made a difference. It was sooooooooo nice to see ou...

Re: Emasculated Manu

He's never scored 1 try a match. He scored last night didn't he? Manu will be back to his best during the season I agree, as I said earlier. Yes he shot out of the line, but that could have been a coaching move to try to disrupt 36's game. 36 was their game manager, even before Billy Burns was clat...

Re: Emasculated Manu

Loretta, I follow your train of thought, but I felt last night that his confidence was returning. It is early days I know, but he did nearly break through a few times, and each time it took three to stop him. The injury has obviously taken time to heal, but his power is still there, but not yet his ...

Re: Is this year pivotal for Cockers?

Whitecap, I understand, but most coaches take the decision away from the players and send the tee on. Once on, the decision is made.

Re: Is this year pivotal for Cockers?

I, like most Tigers fans, was desperate at half time for some control. But remember, we don't have a divine right to win. Gloucester were really good in that first half, picking us off when we made the mistakes. However, once we had realised that our defensive line was had holes in it, we changed to...

I am on several sites, including F/Book. This one does allow free speech, unless it becomes personal or offensive, and at that point it is rightly moderated. I have found the other sites to be 'glossy' and sensationalist, more for people who seek pleasure in the moment, and have little thought for t...
