Re: Fijian winger on his way??
We've had 'Fijian wingers on the way' before who've never actually materialised! One hung around for a while but never got work permit, the other never arrived. But equally we've had ones who have turned up and done a job: Serevi (though admittedly weak in defence) and Tuqiri are both names that we...

Re: Where did the French thread go?
...or maybe you could just stick to not using swear words as the mods have requested? You wouldn't include the same word in English in a post on here so why do you believe it is OK in French? I'm well aware of the original archaic use of the word and, like you, I am also familiar with the more moder...

Re: Where did the French thread go?
I'm quite aware of colloquial French, just as I am aware of colloquial English.
Thethread title included a swear word & therefore was rightly removed. Despite your claim that the thread was "not in the least bit naughty", it clearly was as it included an offensive word.

Re: Where did the French thread go?
It was not the least bit naughty. It asked where the doom mongers had gone and discussed whether, after the storm, there might be sunshine or a downpour! Not quite true there Bill! If it is the thread I saw then you included a swear word in the title which, had it been in English, would not have go...

Re: Why grade 'A' for Warriors??
The grading was set at the beginning of the season. If they downgraded the game now, that would upset the many thousands of fanswho have already bought tickets for the game at A grade prices. Were they to offer early purchasers a discount at the margin it would certainly cost the club more money tha...

Re: Why grade 'A' for Warriors??
Every game in the same league should be of the samne standard. Another silly idea with which to annoy supporters. Yes every game should be, but history shows that in practice it is not the case. Clubs including Tigers have propritised certain fixtures for many seasons now & supporters have grow...

Re: Why grade 'A' for Warriors??
I expect it has been designated as "A" grade as it is the only home game between 5th March & 20th April and will therefore be relatively popular due to the fact that fans will otherwise be deprived of their regular WR for nearly two months. A & B designations are sometimes due to t...

Re: Dickie Bird
As far as I am aware he's still very much alive.
He was quoted in the Leicester Mercury in November 2011 following the death of his twin sister here:

Re: Should be an Interesting Game (or more sloppy journalism)
There are times when you wonder what qualifications are required to be a journalist. Where the DM is concerned, I think the only "qualification" required is an underlying fear of foreigners and a belief that everything in the world potentially causes (and the next week potentially cures) ...

Re: Last match v Bath a 14.00 k/o?
I think DickyP is asking why they didn't announce identical KO times for all final fixtures when the fixture list was first announced way abck before the season began. If so, the answer is simply that they didn't know at that point when the KO time would be so, as with every other fixture on the ori...

Re: Will we be asked to give our shares back
What is wrong with what Saints are doing?!? The club are doing little that Tigers haven't already done! Tigers gave each member at the time of floatation a certain number of shares in the new plc but sold many more to anyone who wanted one, diluting the "ownership" of Tigers from 100% memb...

Re: Will we be asked to give our shares back
The situation at Northampton is completely different to the situation at Tigers. The Tigers shares are held individually by lots of different shareholders whereas the 500,000 Saints shares that the article talks about have been held in a trust on behalf of the club's entire membership . Therefore no...

Re: Six Nations kick-off times
Any idea why on earth the games this Saturday kick-off at 4pm and 8pm GMT (5pm and 9pm local times) in France and Italy respectively? Firstly, you have the KO times & countries the wrong way around. The Italy game kicks off at 4pm (UK time) not 8pm and France at 8pm (UK time) not 4pm. The 8pm K...

Re: Cohen CEO
Nah. He's been Acting CEO for 4 months & on the board for 7yrs. This formalising of tenure just means he can get more loot for the role. Forgive my cynicism: I work for a large company; this is how it works. Leicester Tigers is a business 1st & a rugby club 2nd. Heavens, we can't spend our ...
