Re: Rugby World Cup warm up games

I would imagine in warm up games like these they will be concentrating more on specific aspects of a game plan and building it up. Unfortunately the 2nd half performance was poor so who knows what that was. Hoping for better things on Saturday Yep agree, I did feel that the players seemed to think ...

Re: Rugby World Cup warm up games

I've been thinking a bit about England’s warm up games, namely who they're against. If Borthwick had been in charge sooner would he really have wanted us to play our most likely ¼ final opposition so soon pre-world cup? I think he'd rather we avoided playing them this close to the competition. Bort...

Re: World Cup Squad Announcements

Normal procedure would be for a player to return to his club for rehab. Sometimes injured players are kept in camp so there fitness can be monitored as a potential replacement if required. England have more than 33 players in camp at the moment. The Boks have named four scrum halfs. What's the bett...

Re: Pollard

Desperately sad for him to miss the RWC. Not sure how I feel about it for Tigers. He won’t get hurt and gets time to recover But If it’s bad enough for SA to select him, for how long will he be out ? He has been placed on their standby list of players so they possibly think he will be fit for the k...

Re: Rugby World Cup warm up games

Was just bored and skimming through Englands last few games and we have had centre partnerships of Slade/Daly,Slade/Marchant,Farrell/Marchant,Lawrence/Slade,Tuilagi/Slade,Farrell/Manu,Farrell/Porter,Porter/Marchant. I’ve probably missed some but that’s farcical! Could well have a new one of Tuilagi...

We know the players have been told today and we know they’ll be a decent number of excluded players not too happy, therefore expect it’s true.

Re: Rugby World Cup warm up games

The performance was really poor but I don’t think we need to throw the towel in just yet.

In 2019 I saw the same warm up game and with many more 1st teamers England put in a similarly abject performance.

Re: European semi finals

Looking at the chiefs team, on paper, actually looks pretty strong and having Vermuelen back is a big boost. Not sure how often this team has played this year in their poor prem results. (?) Positions where they are weak are 9 & 10 - surprised they haven’t targeted a top one for next season with...

Re: Will we finish in the top 4?

Pretty funny reading this now. This was AFTER our win against Sarries. I can see Stain losing at Ncastle, and Glaws beating Sale. I think there is still a bit to go yet to keep interest.Ultimately an Ashton hat trick beats Salaries at Twickenham. Destiny is all !!!! IWWT.COYT !!!!!!!! A bit tongue ...

Re: Other games - 24-26th March 2023

Given Gloucester have some very good finishers in their squad (May, LRZ, Thorley) does this suggest Santi Carreras isn’t that great a fly half? Good at the flash stuff but not the basics - the anti George Ford.

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Saturday 25th March 2023 - KO 12:30pm

Interesting to see what happens with the Steward red given all the backlash. Putting aside the ‘framework’ dont see the point in it - what behaviour is that trying to prevent? Will have zero impact on actions of Steward and all other players in the future. On the plus side will be great to have Wats...

At least on the bench with Liebenberg or Cracknell at 7 I'd say
Against Bristol having Reffell should be very helpful.
