Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
The latest attempt to court popularity comes from Simon Massey-Taylor by way of Courtney Lawes. He wants to publicise the "big hits". Rob Calder, who is the RFU's Head of Growth (wonder how his appraisals have been recently) agrees and says "this is what the wider public want". T...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
Good point, Scuttle.
I tuned into Channel 4 when they began broadcasting American football. It was free and they had pundits breaking down the game and running information films to explain what, to me, seemed inexplicable. After I understood what was going on a little more, I began to enjoy it.

And we will all get birthday emails from the club, in case we forget.

Re: Next seasons season ticket
I'm confident the £5 is a one off. My ticket is listed at £475 but the payments of £40 pcm come to £480. The £5 will be charged each year. There is a charge to the club each time a direct debit payment is taken (probably will be about 40p as Tigers isn't a "big" company in this regard), s...

Re: Next seasons season ticket
If people are happy to pay for all that while not being there then more power to them ,your comparison is way off too I’m afraid ,posters are talking about paying for things they are not getting to support a multi million pound business so your analogy doesn’t work at all. Ah, but it's more than a ...

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat
I recognise that it has been a difficult week for Jamie George with the loss of his mother but I would contrast his behaviour with that of Finn Russell. At every break he was chatting with the ref, even sharing a water bottle with him at one point. Not remonstrating, just clarifying a few things...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work
So you want our scrum back 5 to be made up of 3 locks a 6 and a 7. Certainly an interesting opinion not one I share. As I’m sure you know this isn’t junior rugby where players can just swap positions there is a hell of a lot more to it Agreed, it's not junior rugby, it's professional, full-time job...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
American football survives quite well without promotion/ relegation. On paper, London Welsh's move looked like a good bet, Oxford being a place that has traditionally supported rugby and, with Worcester, Saints or Reading Irish being the nearest, a bit of a desert. Clearly, the market research by We...

Re: Next seasons season ticket
I have kept my season ticket all through Covid and a house move to so far away that I rarely visit MWWR now and, if I do, it requires a hotel stay. If I can afford it, I'll keep it but.... pressure is mounting. My income will never increase now. I love the club and the experience; I'm hoping I can ...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
From what I could see on TV it looked a splendid small ground. The pitch looked horrendous. It looked like one of those 3G/4G pitches that you see at schools when they spend a shed load of money laying it but forget to pay for its upkeep. The clue being how the players were covered in rubber crumb ...

Re: Trailfinders a sad indictment of rugby
From what I could see on TV it looked a splendid small ground. As was pointed out on commentary, since the demise of LI and the move by Saracens there is no Prem rugby in the area. BUT, as London Welsh found out, there was no prem rugby in the Oxford area but the support did not materialise despite ...
