Re: Super Rugby 2021
I'm really not a fan of the Finals play-offs that are being proposed for Super Rugby Pacific. Quarter finals: 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5 Semis: highest ranked QF winner v lowest ranked QF winner & 2nd highest ranked v 3rd highest ranked. Final: Highest ranked Semi finalist at home to lowest ranked. Not...

Re: RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
Bledisloe III has now been confirmed as Sunday 5th September at 2pm AWST (6am GMT), at Optus Stadium in Perth. This is despite Western Australia introducing a hard border with New Zealand a couple of days ago, as NZ have been given an exemption as long as they arrive on a charter flight today. The s...

All games to be played in Australia, on their originally scheduled weekends.
The final Bledisloe Cup game will now take place in early September (likely 4th Sept, but possibly Friday 3rd).

Re: RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
The New Zealand government have locked down the country, so unless the All Blacks dug a tunnel to Australia, they were not going to be leaving the country. Not true. They are allowed to leave, and allowed to return. They just have to undertake hotel quarantine on arrival in Australia (normally 14 d...

Re: RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
Guessing delay is not an option. Looking at the wording on the BBC website, the matches have been cancelled and not postponed so not going ahead at all. Can also see that they have cancelled fixtures through to October which would suggest everything up to the Autumn Internationals. That would sugge...

Re: RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
Not sure how they are going to work it out now, I'm guessing the RC has a pre-defined player release window and if fixtures change clubs may be able to demand their players return to them, maybe SA finish their fixtures against Argentina and then the winner of those overall plays NZ in the Autumn i...

Re: RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
The word here in Australia is that the competition will relocate to Europe in Sept/Oct and will be played as double-headers in various European and UK cities.
Bledisloe 3 is rumoured to be played at Wembley on 9th October if it can't be rescheduled in Australia on 4th September.

Joe played 5 times for Tigers in 2002, and I picked up one of his match-worn jerseys for my collection earlier this year via the Matt Hampson Foundation:

Re: BRISTOL (H) - 5th June 2021
Would they have gone to 13 men. If a front row leaves the field injured and no fit front row is on the bench then a replacement cannot come on. Would a further player have been required to leave the field in the case of a yellow? No, they would not have had to go down to 13 men. On this point the r...

Re: Forward passes
We've had gyros and finger sensors connected to audio in mobile phones for some time. Combine the two and we can finally have a rugby ball that screams 'FORWARD!!!' or 'BACK!!!' with every pass or perhaps glows red or green, respectively. It'll drive everybody else mad, but at least the pedants wil...
