In theory yes
Which will lead to more off-loads happening, requiring faster support runners and a quicker game.

Re: Change to tackle height laws

It is of course how many of us oldies were taught to tackle. For safety I think the paragraph about encouraging the ball carrier not to dip into the tackle is equally important. In terms of the game it will eventually lead to leaner quicker players and the off load and support runners will become k...

Sat here in Clermont, beer in hand still wallowing in the efforts of the Tigers last night. Wonderful game from both sides and he 80 fight from the Tigers was brilliant. Time for another beer

Re: Tigers v Clermont (A) - Friday 13th January 2023 - KO 20-00

I hope Pollard is considerably fitter than he was a couple of weeks ago! The team looks pretty good considering our injuries though, but I don't have much hope for a result :smt010 I certainly hope HP is way better than at Sale - speed wise. I think I could have given HP a run for his money then an...

Re: Tigers v Clermont (A) - Friday 13th January 2023 - KO 20-00

Clermont are still a force to be reckoned with, even if Penaud and Lavanini won’t be playing. Let’s not forget that they beat Stormers last month at the Stade Michelin. After having been stuffed by Sale and Newcastle, Clermont would be one of the last places to go for Tigers to get back to winning ...

Re: Other fixtures - 06th to 08th January 2023

Didn’t understand Dickson’s logic regarding how many phases had passed since the incident. As far as I know it is irrelevant as foul play can be looked at any time and certainly there have been numerous Occasions when the referee has gone back after multiple phases to look at an act of foul play. O...

I don't care if the play Farrell, Ford or Smith at 10 (preferably the one fit and in form), so long as they don't play Farrell at 12.
Given Farrell's form last time out and that Sarries are pursuing a more expansive game, I'm sure Farrell will be at 10.

Nope. The truth hurts sometimes and the Tigers will have a massive hurt to bring to Newcastle and adopt the same form as Sarries did against the Chiefs. I have to say Farrell was sublime.

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Friday 30th December 2022 - KO:19:45

They say that if the same mistake is intentionally made more than once, then it implies insanity. Four attempts at going for the corner when points were on offer may qualify as such? Surely, the homework had been done on Sale and how abrasive they are? Take the points and reset. Had the points been ...

Re: Next England Head Coach (Pre World Cup)

You honestly think that the correct thing to do was keep him at the club at any cost once Tigers were contacted by the RFU about him being released early. You think that would have been a fair honest and decent thing to do to a bloke who has sweated blood for the club. It should never have been an ...

Re: Next England Head Coach (Pre &/or Post World Cup)

Even though the writing was on the wall, I remain gutted. I could have accepted it in say in another two years when the Tigers would have an ingrained consistency built by SB. Cullen and / or Lancaster would IMO be a a good fit?
