Re: Tigers Signings 2009/10

Lamb seems to like playing the big man which is ok down in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire where the cities are quite small and people very friendly but try that in some of the dodgey parts of Leicester or in Loughborough and he'll get his face smashed in and miss a load of games. Not worth it in my ...

Re: Cozza and Tom V

Would love to see Austin come back in as the defence coach, he reads the game so well and we could use someone to tighten it up a bit. I'm sure he could also help out O'Connor from time to time as well.

Re: Now that Tom V has gone, who is the quickest at Welford Rd

Be one of Hipkiss (takes a few metres to hit his stride but after that he's into the distance), Ben Youngs or Croft I would have thought. Possible dark horses are Johne and Hamilton. Ellis used to be up there but I think that knee injury put paid to that.

Re: Dayglo the Master

The board would be lynched if they tried to appoint Dayglo he is despised and respected in equal portion around Leicestershire but the idea of him having control over decisions that effect the hallowed sanctuary of rugby that is Welford Rd would be to much. We don't need or want his PR pandering typ...

Re: Falcons v Tigers

Bluntiger I'm pretty sure you have to have a hooker on the bench. Otherwise it looks pretty good even if we are a little short of a goal kicker. Maybe Flood will have to play as Vesty hasn't really got the range. If Flood can't get the backline moving then Vesty should be on the bench to make the im...

Re: England win but at what cost to Tigers

I couldn't believe it originally the image of them squaring up was to good to be true, or so it seemed. The clash of the hairy hard men, I'm willing to pay for video footage people! Wonder if the UFC would offer them contracts for a one off re-match?!?

Re: Jordan Crane re-signed according to Merc

Best ball carrying forward in the league and still a young star. A vital signing for Tigers. Gutted Varndell has gone but Crane is as important if not more so.

Re: England win but at what cost to Tigers

A bar brawl with Castro and Chabal, that would be the hairiest and meanist fight ever to hit a bar. If it were only true and someone had videoed it on their phone/security cameras. Lets hope some of the injured players start coming back into the team soon. The covering players have been brilliant bu...

Re: Marco Wentzel leaving

Looks like we'll be relying on Parling and Hemmingway to cover Blaze, Deacon and Kay next season then. All English though which is good to see. Then again we might do a little shopping at the Sarries South African discount store, "thats right people eveything must go!"

Re: Should we sign Haskell?

Hmm something strikes me as odd about Harry's website, the brief history section on the right hand side of the front page has him born on the 3/6/1986 making him 22, 1.91m or 6 foot 3 tall and as a 'backrow' player. Think someones messed it up a bit.

Re: Save Tom Varndell!

Varndell is under contract for another year and we will not terminate his contract because the payoff would count towards next season wage budget. Wasps therefore will have to buy out his contract (with Tigers consent) and then pay TVs hefty wage, I doubt they have the cash to do that or will want t...

Excellent news that Mad Dog will be back with us soon. We can always have a sweepstake on how many games it will take the mentalist to injure himself again.

Re: England XV unchanged for Calcutta Cup match

Glad he's kept the starting line up the same as it would have been harsh to drop anyone after the win over the French. Slightly dissappointed that he's not mixed the bench up a bit with Care and Haskell anything but convincing when they came on against France. Goode was't either but fly half options...

Re: Save Tom Varndell!

Seeing as Tigers have reduced the wage budget already this season with Twelvetrees replacing Rubeni, Duffey replacing Kayser and Parling replacing Corry hopefully they'll be room in the budget to indulge in the best finisher in the league. I can't imagine that we're overstretched budget wise unless ...

Re: Geordan Murphy set to break new 6N record...

Kearney is a good full back but I think he's being overhyped a bit by a the Irish media/fans. He's not close to being in the same league as Murphy was at the height of his powers.
