Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work
I may be on my own here, but I can see this arrangement as the template for the future. Essentially, a hybrid of the current system and central contracts, with the RFU paying the players fully and directly for the time they’re away rather than the failed “pay part of the cost of access to the player...

I may be wrong, but it looks to me that there are no premiership games over the 6 Nations!!

Re: Leicester Tigers 2023/24 Squad a new era
Going into the World Cup without a contract already signed for next season would be a very hard nosed, not to say risky, negotiating position. A bad injury and he could easily find himself unemployed and funding his rehab and recovery himself.

Re: Next season Champions Cup - 2023/2024
While personally, I've done with European competition, I'd be amazed if Tigers did anything to suggest the same. Any press release or team selection with a whiff of "we're not going to bother, because we're not good enough" would surely be unthinkable by the club.

Ok. It’s official. I no longer give a stuff about European Rugby. What a farce!

Re: Exiles set for Exile?
A few posts suggesting bells and whistles and cheap/giveaway tickets to build long term support. Didn’t work so well at Wasps, did it?

Re: Exiles set for Exile?
Personally wouldn’t be happy with a British league unless there was a standard salary cap across the board. And some institutions wouldn’t wear that!

9 o’clock local time! I expect everyone will be feeling sorry for those of us who’ll be attending any of those ludicrously scheduled fixtures, poor me…

Re: Exiles set for Exile?
Where there is already a base, I do think there's an element of build it and they will come. For example, Wasps showed that some support could be drawn out with attractive rugby. Their gates were undoubtedly inflated by marketing, but there must be a few thousand in Coventry missing them. If Cov rug...

Re: Exiles set for Exile?
I’d imagine there are heated discussions going on with Scottish and Richmond. The plan for 10/10 is clearly ripe for bringing in a year early now, but the championship needs a trim for the numbers to work. Sweeney is guilty of sleeping at the wheel, and now has a hell of a job to put something viabl...
