Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

He reminds me of Salvi back in the day, excellent defensively, both at the breakdown and as a tackler. But at this stage doesn’t offer much ball in hand. Both as a carrier or link man. What we do need to remember is that certain players are reflective of the overall style of play. Let's be honest, ...

Re: Worcester @ Home - 05th February 2022

Do we know if rules surrounding EU players and the Bosman and Kolpak rulings are going to be carried over to the premiership in the long term?

It does seem that more and more often someone on here suggests a player that would be great to sign as a replacement e.g. Marler, there's a bit of chat about it on the thread and suddenly there's articles and websites reporting the rumour. 99.9% of the time they are rubbish.

Re: Progress under Borthwick 2021/22

Well which is it Cockerill or Eddie because both of those have different styles also. Cockers downfall with Edinburgh like it was with us was it was too set in his ways and he lost the dressing room. (Could argue that due to Edinburgh finances he wasn't able to do what Borthwick could with us and c...

Re: Progress under Borthwick 2021/22

I don't doubt that he's done a good job and in this 18 months hes made massive changes and improvements. But only time will tell when those improvements are much harder to get (the top 1%) and its about maintaing a team at a high level if the management style stays the same. Reminds me a bit of RC a...

Re: Progress under Borthwick 2021/22

It will be interesting to see if his management style evolves over the next few seasons. Seems very similar to the EJ approach and may not be suited to an extended time e.g. Club rugby.

Not sure how the registration works mate Not 100% sure myself but almost certainly he will be registered with Cardiff in Europe so I’d imagine he’s ineligible for the European games According to the EPCR website Robinson is a registered player for Cardiff and is certainly not on the players list fo...

I assume it will get to a point when its not worth playing him and saving the cap space for any emergencies/early releases that might happen in the last few months of the season.

Re: Wasps (A) - Sunday 9th January 2022 - 3pm

Genuinely can’t remember the last line break he made. It's the classic Saracens/Eddie Jones play book of playing/trusting the systems to get you the win. IMO, you'll never see lots of line breaks in any team that Borthwick coaches unless he changes/adapts his philosophy. But I'm also not complainin...

Re: Idea on penalties and sanctions

Rugby, IMO, needs to become more professional in its refereeing. There should be the least amount of variation as possible from different refs week to week. If an AR calls a penalty then the ref should blow up and accept it. It's ridiculous that a professional sport is dictated by how the ref trusts...

It depends if you think winning one or two matches is worth the thousands of pounds of salary, which could also be used later in the season if someone becomes available.

Are there any rumours as to where Sheedy will be moving to in Wales? Is he definitely going? https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/what-aj-macgintys-signing-means-6188654 Thought he had a 2 year contract in 2019. Would be suprised if he wants to extend without a significant pay rise ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

Anyone know what the typical agent fees are? Will it price out players that don't have rich families to help them out at the start if squad players are paying a significant sum from their own pocket?
