Re: Departure of Cockerill
Looks very premature to me. Made the playoffs every year since their inception and how many other clubs have managed that? A great player and servant of the club. Sad day.

No, just thought it was funny, like Rio Ferdinand talking about taking on the "mantelpiece" of captaincy a few years ago.

Scroll to the end of this story and read the last sentence. "Put wrong any rights". Did Adam Thompstone really say this or is this a cock up by a Mercury staffer?

Re: The Welford Road Matchday Experience
Gave up buying beer in Welford Rd several seasons ago. Too expensive and queues too long. The beer in the Swan and Rushes before the game on Saturday was superb. Vote with your feet. Only way the club will ever listen.

Was rumoured after Cipriani left, but as far as I've heard Floody has signed an extension to his contract at Toulouse this summer.

According to Martin Crowson on Twitter yesterday Fonua wages were considerable, which I find staggering. Rather glad he's gone now.dunks43 wrote:those saying he took a lot of wages, Im not so sure, we signed him from relegated london welsh, couldnt imagine he was well paid there either

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
I know Fonua was unlucky with injuries last season, but there did appear to be a genuine problem with his condition as demonstrated by the Royal Marine trainer the club hired for him. Maybe they have finally admitted defeat trying to get him in the shape they want him to be?

Re: Dean Ryan
Apparently the row was over money, there was a Warriors press release last week to say Ryan would have "a top six budget" (whatever that is) which would then go up 25% next season. He has apparently assured the Warriors board he isn't going to another Premiership club.

Appears George is going to assist with coaching London Irish first team along with one Brendan Venter. Link below

Sad day. Always liked George. Never took a backward step. Link below for those who need such things:-

Re: Saxons Squad
I can understand Ashton being miffed, but surely if you're committed to playing for your country at the highest level again one day you take what they offer you, work hard and show the coach they're wrong. Petulantly refusing to tour is not the way to do it.

Re: Genge for England.
Wow! Clearly Tigers and EJ see tremendous potential in him. Ben Teo'o included although not technically a Warriors player yet. Hopefully this isn't yet another RL convert rushed through with undue haste! Also no Cashton, which is a surprise. Yarde in for him.
