Submissions for new years honours are made well in advance of his run last year, so it was unlikely until next time.

If him staying was realistic we would have re-signed him already given his contract is out at the end of the year. Just because he wants to stay doesn't mean we can actually afford it or compete with anyone else for his signature.

He never really kicked on and there is so much depth in the back row he was always going to struggle for game time. I'd expect K Van Wyk to be a similar cap casualty.

Shame, but I suspect its for the same reasons as Ford. Bristol as a team at the minute is a complete basketcase though - massively unbalanced and that will only get worse by packing out the front row even more. Unless Lam has some magical scummage-everything gameplan nobody else knows about yet.
