Re: Next Number 10 ?
I wonder how Freddie Burns must be feeling if rumours are true that Tigers are looking to replace George Ford with whosoever? For me, he's a more than competent fly half who'd sell his granny to be the regular first team fly half, and to assist in the development of young Lancaster. Freddie didn't ...

Re: George Fords Departure - Why ?
You do wonder why he was even on the pitch to start with that much strapping on. Poor player management IMO.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls
George Ford has been nothing short of excellent during his second spell with Leicester and I have no Ax to grind or any bitterness toward him with regard to his decision to move on.Things happen.... A cautionary note however to the many who believe that his 'professionalism' will guarantee that Lei...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls
If I'm right didn't Toomua genuinely believe his Oz career was over? Yeah he did. I rated Toomua, just wrong time for him at the club due to the mess it was in. He was also injured and got sent off on debut I think. Stop start, wanting to spend time with his wife and the call of international caps,...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls
Ford is one if the main reasons we are in the position that we are, you can't doubt his effort and professionalism. Gareth Evans had to retire last week at 30. I'm not going to judge any player that wants to maximise their earnings in a sport where the next match could be the last one and you could ...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021
IMO, Farrell was as good as Smith was. Whether people think that was a 6, 7 or 8 I don't know. I'd put Steward above, mainly for his try - he did everything well. England clearly have the measure of Aus. The SA game will probably give a better indication of who might be a potentially world class tes...

Re: 21/22 Injury/Suspension Thread
Freddie Burns' rib injury... "He took a bang in his ribs. He's a gutsy player, he didn't want to come of the pitch. He kept trying to play on. In the end he had to come off. Testament to the character of the bloke, he tried to guts it out, [he's a] tough man." This highlights a major prob...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021
Absolutely, or as close to the end as possible. I think for a lot of people, it is the extra things like being able to go to the bar, banter with the opposite fans, etc that is the appeal over sitting at home (which is normally much clearer and better to understand with the commentary and ref mike, ...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021
It's not hard to make a 2 pint pot last you a half of rugby! Its not hard but it's demonstrably impossible for some. I always get a pint midway through the first half, and always will, no matter what game I'm at. Might as well watch it at home if you start to remove all the match day experiences.

Re: Bath - Home - 05th November 2021
Why would they call up George when they have got Furbank....!!?? Dont all cry at once.. Eddie Jones has made a few massive cock ups, this is up there with the best.. Surely, Tonga is exactly the sort of game that you can try things like this. EJ knows what GF can do. A win for England at home is th...

Re: Timing of internationals
Do away with the Premiership Cup and autumn internationals and re-structure the season so that no premiership games are played on the same day as six nations. Clubs would then get bigger crowds watching full strength teams every week and hence more revenue. Removing the AI's would mean never having...

Re: Timing of internationals
But a club rugby focused game will ultimately result in the game dying off, IMO. I really can't see the club game picking up the all the casual fans that watch the internationals if the domestic leagues become the priority. Hmm. Not sure. I look at US and Canadian professional sports - which is alm...

Re: Timing of internationals
I understand that viewpoint as well.
But even if every international game was scrapped, players would have to play significantly more than the current 30 game limit if they played every club game. That's if this has anything to do with player welfare...
