Re: Chris Ashton
I originally thought we had lost the plot, but Steve knows him, he must be cheap and knows it could be his last chance and if there was another winger who will be off at the end of the season, say to the Southern hemisphere, it could give them the chance to go early....

Re: SALE (A) - Sunday 30th January 2022 - 3-00pm
I trust Steve. I just don't trust my ability to second guess his team! Assuming all england players are away and all else fit, I would go for Front row. Van Wyk, Montoya, Cole, subs Whitcombe, Dolly, Leatigaga. I feel the time to start Whitcombe is next week. All subs should have an impact. If Monto...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls
If we are to use an injury dispensation it would be far better to do so towards the end of the season when it matters. I am still puzzled why we let Smith go unless we had no idea Brink was off. Especially with the amount of rugby Van Staden and Wiese have had.....not to mention a suspension not bei...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls
For those who didn't see it, before the game Steve said Genge told him a few weeks ago that he was most likely off and that had enabled them to plan. It sounded to me like they have a good idea who may come in, but I doubt there will be a tacky reveal any time soon. To be fair to Ellis, it does make...

Re: Connacht (H) - Sunday 19th December 2021 - KO 13:00
I don't think there was anything wrong with the tactics in the first half, we just lacked a 10 to execute them accurately. I wonder if its worth giving burns a few games on loan to get rid of the rust as it would be very hard to pick up ahead of Hegarty at the moment. Massive boost for Whitcombe to ...

Re: Genge leaving
Whilst the decision makes no sense and the video is in very poor taste, I absolutely believe he will give 100 percent until the end of the season. After all, Steve could be his boss again one day!! I'd be tempted to give him 20 mins at the weekend to show what he can do. Getting on his back will onl...

I think we know its best to trust Steve but I would like to see Reffell with Van Staden and Wiese to come on. We will have to rest Ford at some point as he is rarely substituted. The biggest concern is if players are missing with Covid. I don't know if its a coincidence but I think Steward and Kelly...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls
Anyone know any kiwi or south african props with relatives in the East Midlands who may wish to join for family reasons? Ideally with a British passport :smt001 What I don't get is both Bristol and Sale seem to concentrate the bulk of their funding on a small number of players. Not an ideal model to...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls
Reading between the lines, I think the club will have known or at least suspected for a while. The timing is puzzling and I can only think Bristol were about to announce it. A sad loss and I think he would do much better to stay, but for his rumoured wages there shouldn't be a shortage of players we...

Re: Bordeaux away
I confess I was surprised by some of the selections but if anyone needs a rest it's Montoya Youngs and Steward. I doubt any player has put in more shifts over the last few months than Montoya, he seems to play almost every minute of every game. Just hope Nadolo isn't injured as he has hardly played ...

Re: Tigers vs Quins - 05th December 2021 - 3-00pm
Isn't it a great feeling to write down the side, realise who you have left out and have to start again! Against Quins, we need to have a strong bench. I'd be tempted to start with Reffell with Van Staden coming on. Chessum would also create an impact. Maybe Wells and Martin to start at lock but that...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021
From these games, I think in theory 3 teams could win the 6 nations, England, France and Ireland. Given Ireland are away against the other two it will probably come down to the last game in Paris. I wouldn't be shocked if Scotland are 4th but think Wales depending on how many stay on the pitch......

Re: Next Number 10 ?
I think a key factor is whether we need to invest in a quality lock. The form of Chessum and others suggest this may not be as critical as first thought. That said I'd love to sign Etzebeth!

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021
I know motm usually goes to the winning team but Eben was immense. Looks like a vacancy on the England wing and are Wales the luckiest team ever?
