Re: Scrapping Matchday Programs
To be frank, they ceased to be of any material interest since George Chuter's column ended once he retired. The rest is PR gumf for the most part. We're moving to a digital age so I can envisage that, one day soon, they will cut down the volume printed and bring in an online PDF version before phas...

Re: Pre (and post) match hostelries in High Wycombe
There's a fine boozer on the main rd / hill at the end of the station area, I forget its name. Lots of hand pumped real ale. Usually Tigers other than me in there. Living in Oxfordshire, this is a day out with my mates - Insect ST'ers to a man - 15min on the train. Wives collect us off the train muc...

Re: LV qualification
Having seen the column inches and the news items on the TV it reminds me how the opportunities for minnows to turnover one of the big guys is so much part of the appeal of the FA Cup. Something to think about? As a matter of interest, can anyone find a Tigers v Wasps match report on the BBC website...

Re: Wasps and the LV Cup
I too will be there in red, green & white jersey, shouting loudly.
Bringing the son-in-law of a good friend on the wife's ST, his 1st time at WR.
Hope he enjoys it; not too much though: the poor guy is an Insect.
If they win, he understands it's a long walk back to Banbury...

Re: Ford wants to stay!
On Radio Leicester, the 1 or 2 pm news had an announcement along the lines of "Tigers fly half George Ford, out of contract at the end of season, will then be joining his father Mike at Bath". Interestingly, it wasn't repeated on any further news. Might Tigers PR have been on the phone &am...

Re: Radio Leicester Rugby
Why can't I get the live commentary over the net, either on Leicester or Berkshire radio? Just getting a recorded message siting either a technical or contractual problem... Same problem as you, No8. This is what I've always got with Internet radio for Tigers commentaries. I tried the link Tigris p...

Re: Radio Leicester Rugby
DAB is more or less as local as FM. Online will be brill, if it works. I get to most home games but, living in Oxfordshire, I depend on the online transmission for away games. Problem is, every time I tried to access it, all I got was "for contractual or technical reasons, we can't bring you th...

Cheerleaders - an alert for Bill W
Bill W: go to BBC iPlayer, "Listen again"; get Monica Winfield on Radio Leicester. Shuffle along to shortly before 8am this morning & listen to the Jacksonville Jaguars' cheerleaders talking with Mon. Then get yourself down to the King Power this afternoon, 'cos they're on at half-time...

Re: A visit to Oxford in October
The Pitt Rivers museum is definitely worth a visit. http://www.prm.ox.ac.uk/ Been there many times and discover something new and interesting each time. Ze Stade Fan: The Pitt Rivers has reopened after major redevelopment. I've not been since then, but all reports I've read in the Oxford Times are ...

Re: Oxford Welsh
I believe that the Exiles are hoping to tap into the vast numbers of students in the city. Hoping they'll crack out some deals for us! It's just a massive shame that Tigers are playing Welsh before term starts. Unless things have changed a lot since I lived in the city with my then (ex) fiancee, wh...

Re: Oxford Welsh
I accept traffic flow in Leicester is dreadful, I doubt most of us take an hour to drive in to Welford Road and I'd have said the vast majority of regulars live in Leicestershire. I'm sure a number come in from far afield but by car you can get into Leicester from pretty well anywhere in Leicesters...

Re: Oxford Welsh
Will they get > 10000 attendance? :smt017 Well, as we live in a small market town 15 miles from Oxford, my wife & I are very much looking forward to being there for the 1st game of the season. Unfortunately for the Exiles, we'll be wearing Scarlet, Green & White jerseys & shouting "...

Re: Teams up for Saracens
As an aside, I remember a drop goal form Geordan form the half way line at Welford Rd that went straight through the posts. Tigers had been well on top through-out the game and in the final stages were pushing for another try. The attack broke down and the defence kicked straight down field - into ...

Re: Cohen CEO
It's probably Cockers's fault. Pretty much everything else is, after all. It's snowing out. Wouldn't have happened if Cockers had given the sun more sky time. We may jest about Cockers and disquiet within the squad. But does David Clayton's demise and the rise of S. Cohen signal other inner turmoil...
