Re: England v Canada - 10th July 2021

England executed far better that a week earlier. Great for Harry Wells to claim full international recognition.. Did England execute better or were Canada not as good as the USA? Both, with the latter contributing to the former. As an example, USA frequently challenged Freddy Steward under the high...

Re: England v Canada - 10th July 2021

Canada were poor, I reckon any English pro side should be well drilled and fit enough to win well against Canada.
Not a lot was learned in my opinion apart from some good timing in Randall's deliveries and in particular for Genge to come around and carry hard.

If you look at many of Quins tries amongst the outside backs they very often still have had defenders to beat.
Marchant, Lynagh, Green, Murley, Earle and Brown have all been excellent in my opinion.

Re: England vs USA - 4th July 2021

astonishing that players are being written off based on a single game in a totally scratch team! On that basis, the 1998 England touring side should have ditched players such as Wilkinson, Vickery and Lewesey..... It'd be horrible being a player now just knowing that whatever you do, whatever happe...

Re: England vs USA - 4th July 2021

The USA may have won were it not for some shocking defensive moments. England were low on playing quality in my opinion. We also conceded 3 rolling maul tries, very poor, so many clumsy bits of play also. Not a good spectacle from England POV. Agreed, it was poor all round really. The USA defender ...

Manu has never developed as a player, he should of used Umaga & Nonu as an inspiration, he also should of been used far more without the ball.
It's a bit different playing outside players of the calibre of Dan Carter.

Re: Manu

When you can move at that level of pace and are relied upon to crash ball with such forces time and again in teams lacking inventiveness then no one should be surprised at injuries. It's not the players fault but more how he has been used. Slower is more safe. You pay for risk. It would have been b...

Re: 3 Tigers in the U20’s squad

Well usually these guys would be getting game time at the National league level 1 or 2. Handful of the older guys in the championship Then feature on and off for A league/prem cup. For a few of those guys at least from the England side at least, especially the forwards that would've been their firs...

Re: 3 Tigers in the U20’s squad

I watched this U20's game. I was impressed by England's comeback but not impressed by the standard. The gulf between that and pro level club rugby looked particularly large, maybe even the largest gulf that I have ever witnessed. Now that could be the impact of coronavirus, it could be the impact of...

Re: The Play Offs...

Plenty of heart from Quins.
A lack of it from the opposition.
Down to 13 at the end and they had an extra weeks rest.

Re: Tom Youngs Charged

Some people forgot Neil Back’s push on the ref in the final v Bath: we were there and it was no accident. I’ve heard other Tigers swear at the ref in years gone by but it was usually quickly answered by in a witty way by Sir. Nigel Owens is very good at handling such aberrations! Sadly I booed the ...

Good to see Lavanini score, win lose or draw he is a player I have enjoyed watching.
