Re: Manu and Alesana fined

At cricket's Test matches last year(?) stewards were banning/confiscating all soft-drink bottles except the "right" sponsor's ones so that the crowd did not inadvertently advertise the "wrong" product

Re: Independent's campaign against England

So Roger Uttley never did any of this :smt005 .....compared with non-professional rugby players, the pro era is characterised by virtually none of the previous behaviours. What publishes rugby books and fuels after-dinner speaking in rugby circles? I think most of the criticism is sanctimonious cla...

Re: Manu and Alesana fined

Clive Woodward's approach to winning in 2003 was to pay attention to everything - however minor.

Re: Independent's campaign against England

Times have changed. Warburton of Wales has said the last alcohol he had was after the 6 Nations. And there is this: "Former England captain and manager Roger Uttley said there had been "embarrassing indiscipline on and off the field for Martin Johnson". "I'm sure he's got a grip ...

Re: Independent's campaign against England

The behavior of the 3 who abused the worker at the hotel is disgraceful but i struggle to see why tindall should be getting all this attention. Yes he was stupid and probably drunk a bit too much but it was after a game and the players where having a good time why shouldnt he be allowed to. His onl...

Re: Ben Youngs

Have we also seen Flood "coached" from an 85% kicker to a 65% one with the "fairy steps" dance?

Re: Delon Armitage gets 1-match ban ...

His "high tackle" looked more like a forearm smash. I have noticed that genuinely high tackles (above the shoulder) have been ignored in every game I've seen at the RWC. Presumably, this is part of the referees' "game management" plan.

Re: Poor France

Poor France, indeed. Is there any explanation? Are they, like soccer players, too rich and too proud to play for their country?

Re: Ben Youngs

Ben Youngs has ALWAYS had a tendency to take 4 steps sideways before passing; it was evident in all the early games he played for us.

Re: England v Scotland - the teams are up

As far as I`m concerned it`s not just Wilkinsons poor percentage of kicks. The behind posts replay of his missed DG attempt in second half clearly showed Manu starting to run a line off Wilkinsons shoulder, Wilkinson just put the blinkers on and kicked. Almost sure a hole was there for Manu! Absolu...

Re: Parling returns

I thought Tait showed willing until tiredness became a factor. ALL Tigers heads went down after one very soft try - there was a general air of giving up - something I have never seen before - but they rallied.

Mafi seems to want to hang about on the wing a lot. Hence the nick name Steve Murphy, I guess.
