Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

Personally I think Kelly is our best 12 and I would play Kata on the wing. Steward is our best fullback and in my opinion should be playing there. I don't like our second option at 10 being on the pitch from the start, an injury to Pollard means a shuffle round among the backs and if Shillcock has h...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022

That is an awful lot of work when we don't know the salary of a single player listed. Of course what is paid to any player is irrelevant all that matters is what they actually bring to the team.

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

However they are financed, whenever the last won a trophy one thing is clear Leinster are a good team but come Saturday the squad they put out will have the same number of players as ours, if we have our full first team out with first choices in the pack we are a match for anybody. Our halfback are ...

Re: JVP

Whilst I agree that Ben Youngs has displayed a talent for the media I do hope he continues as a player for at least another season, I disagree with many of the comments about his performance against Gloucester, I also disagree with much of the criticism of Whitely. The last I heard rugby was a team ...

Re: Over the cap (again)

Of course Ellis Genre being announced as an Ambassador for the Bristol kit supplier shortly before he actually signed his intention to join Bristol was clearly nothing to do with his signing and any financial payment to Ellis was clearly outside the salary cap. The fact that the Bristol kit supplier...

Re: Over the cap (again)

Seems bad that we have been found to have sinned again, I would like to know how it happened and what were the circumstances behind it. Obviously a team spending right up to the cap can be caught out if they anticipate incorrectly a p!ayers England selection and I am sure there are other circumstanc...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

In answer to Raging Bull's question for me Kata is a great player but I do not think him as creative at 12 as Kelly who has not performed as well at 13 as he did at inside centre. We have signed Pereze who I have watched with interest in three matches recently and I have yet to see anything that mak...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Obviously we can't keep everybody but there is something wrong with a system that cannot provide a game of decent standard rugby for 19/20 year-olds they have to.make the leap from from Under 20's or Academy rugby to the Premiership in one go. I am also not in favour of signing foreign players that ...

Re: Preseason fixtures confirmed - 2024/2025

It will be interesting to see how many potential Lions playing their rugby in France are actually released for the tour by their clubs.and how many that do travel will have a job to go back to.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I hope it is a shoulder injury, I was concerned it might be linked to the leg injury he had whilst still at Brooksby. I doubt that Lewis was coming the big I am at Lions but he had been playing as captain for the Under 20's and maybe leadership was being misinterpreted. Personally I am not happy wit...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Most of the young players now in our team were brought through in the Murphy era as was Ben White and Sam Costello both now internationals.
We must continue to progress our young players with the addition of a few possibly foreign stars to fill.the gaps and bring quality and experience to the team.

Re: Preseason fixtures confirmed - 2024/2025

Hopefully the gap between pre season friendly matches and the start of the Premiership will be bridged by Premier Cup.games. We may also find that England players can return a little earlier as long as they have an early rest week. The rules were relaxed last season to enable Ellis Genge to make his...

Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO

We have always been told that the TMO is unable to hear match commentary, if that is not the case why have we been lied to? If course we always knew that TMO's would see repeated viewings of an incident and maybe influenced by that but for them to ignore an incident on the grounds that the commentat...

LE18, I am quite excited by the signing of Beet, I do like to see young players come through and Tigers have had a few successful project players in the past. Smith is a good solid prop, played well against us for Ospreys but I don't expect to see him making many runs ball in hand. Our new centre pl...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Edwards has not been given a chance to show what he can do. In fact many young players are now not being given the opportunity to make that transition from Academy to Premiership. The fault is that there is no A League and by swamping the squad with seasoned mature players the young ones are not get...
