Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns

Back to Wig - I am of the belief he is set to get into coaching and under the mentorship of SB. Is he to stay at Tigers as a player coach or is he off to get coaching experience.? I thought he was bought in with that in mind?

Re: American Investors for Tigers?

After yesterday - are the Glaziers looking for a change of direction. Jog on....

Like we've said all speculation and no substance. If I light a match will it catch fire...??? Still needs oxygen and energy.

Re: Montpellier’s Form - Challenge Cup Final chat

Battle of the packs. Who blinks first. Tough tough game ,but I am optimistic I think it will be down to who wants it most.
Do we want it most. It could just be the game that turns our fortunes.

Re: Progress Under Borthwick

In a short space of time we have gone from mediocre relegation prospects with a large hastily purchase squad. to a leaner hungry gnarly outfit. A team which is at least competing in every game and if we are losing its by fine margins. To a team that has reached a Final in a European competition, who...

Re: American Investors for Tigers?

Guess an ex President wants to add a Rugby club to its Golf portfolio in the UK.
Then we would have to change the name to Trump Towers Hotel and Trump Towers Welford Road Stadium.

Joking...............

Then again its the Rugby Paper...........which links any Mickey Mouse storey to Tigers.

Work v Life balance decision. Right call for him and his family.
No rights or wrongs.
Not sure but feel the tour could be cancelled anyway due to COVID.

Re: 7th May - Sale Away

Agree with selections.
Will be a hard fought game on the back of Fridays performance. However I'd use it as motivation for a W or at least a LBP.

Re: SAINTS AT HOME 24TH APRIL 2021

I think we played better rugby with a mix of the younger squad and the SA contingent. However I feel we are still a good squad. tweaks are being made and yesterday was a step down. One eye on Ulster or no we should still have had some better control. I still feel we are on track, inevitable bump in ...

Re: SAINTS AT HOME 24TH APRIL 2021

Poorest game for me. We were always playing catch up. Looked a bit like headless chickens. Lots of effort lots of poor handling errors and in general poor decision making. The only thing that flattered us was the 5 point score difference allowing us a loosing BP. Or have we a bigger eye on Friday -v...

Does anyone know how many "strikes" against, SB allows before a player is dropped to re think and change ways.

Re: SAINTS AT HOME 24TH APRIL 2021

Those from the wrong end of Welford Road will not be looking forwards to MWWRd. They have thus far not put in a 80 min performance. Good in patches, very good in patches and abysmal in patches. If we maintain our progression and ferocity, we should get this one to bed. I have no doubt SB knows how v...

Re: Away vs Bath 18th April

A game Barff should have won and did - JUST. Where we were to where we are now is a massive improvement. For all posters to be talking NOW of the disappointment of loosing the fine margins, or what could have been if we had kept our discipline is a great testament. I hate loosing to Barff and the la...

Re: Away vs Bath 18th April

Barff "should" win this one. I hope that we get no red cards and yellows down to a minimum. Keeping 15 on the pitch is a must, because if Barff run the ball out wide we will be found wanting. Then who knows - if we convert our points and kick wisely we may do a Proper Job on the Auld enemy...

Re: Starting XV

EEEEH gods. For three or more seasons we survived with a squad that was cobbled together with poor purchases and a few who couldn't have cared less. Now we have a squad that is competitive and a genuine fight for places. A squad fit to fight in domestic and European arenas. And we are still question...

Re: TMO question

Compare League with Union. There is a distinct disconnect in the way the TMO is used in union. The ref in League asks the distinct question and the TMO talks with a degree of knowledge. Union allows the TMO to offer opinion in which some refs are dissuaded from there original decision. There are big...
